The food was incredible! James picked us up from the airport and showed us around the island which was really lovely and great to get an overview of what’s where.
Exceptional service, food that is out-of-this-world and beautiful accommodations. The island itself is such a unique place to visit. Protected by UNESCO you can appreciate the place as nature intended. Best of all it’s not crowded so that often times you can explore the many beautiful beaches with only a small handful of people (if any).
A very relaxing stay which allowed us to get in touch with nature. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The manager who picked us up at the airport took us for a short tour of the island before we checked in. It set a tone for the stay.
Staff were lovely, rooms were clean and comfortable, only note was the snorkling gear was average, but it's free so you can't complain!
The free bike hire was a great addition, loved our stay so much!
A beautiful location and great accommodation with incredible staff. Fantastic evening dining. Will surely return to Arajilla. First rate break in this idyllic setting.
Our stay was all that we could have wished for! We could do lots, or nothing, as we wished. Meals were wonderfully presented and a delight to eat. The staff were young and enthusiastic to please our every whim. If we didn't want to walk, we could be driven where ever we wished to go and picked up again at a nominated time and place. Room service was prompt and well presented. The surrounding property is beautifully natural with winding paths through the Kentia palms and tropical gardens.
Other guests were rarely seen except at meal times or in the lounge and there was no intruding noise from the other units, although the property was full during our visit.
It was only a couple of minutes easy walk to the beach or the beginning of walks and hikes, which varied in length and difficulty, but always had wonderful views along the way. We loved Arajilla!
and perfect.
This is a lovely hotel set amongst a palm forest. The rooms are large and clean, and the service is excellent. Arajilla is only a few minutes walk to Settlement Beach where turtles are frequently seen.
Arajilla, being on Lord Howe Island, is only 2 hours from Sydney and just perfect. You are met at the airport by a member of the friendly staff and given a quick orientation tour of the island.
The rooms are lovely and clean with comfrotable beds.
The staff are friendly and very helpful.
The bikes provided are good to ride and comforable seats, with enough gears to get up the hills.
All food is included. The meals are fantastic and diverse. If required breakfast can be arranged early or a tray in your room, if you are leaving on a tour before 8 am.
Lunch can be eat in or sandwiches take away or even a BBQ.
Everything is fantastic and couldn't be better
Unfortunately the weather was not great , but the hotel and the island lovely. We did a lot of bush walking, not as much snorkelling as we had hoped. Arajilla is located in a lovely area of the island although the island being small, everywhere is close. The food was good, some nights were great. Friendly staff but often have to ask for things more than once. Bikes are provided for getting around the island, and this is easy riding. We enjoyed the wildlife on the island. Mt Gower is the most challenging bush walk I have done, but a great sense of achievement when completed. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Also a very comfortable lounge area in your room, one TV channel available if you want to keep up with news and Movies are also available to watch. It was our first visit to Lord Howe Island and we were very happy with our choice to stay at Arajilla.
Facilities: Everything you could need; Service: Go the extra mile;
Lord Howe Island is fantastic, terrific scenery, very quiet, many walks, a great place to relax. Arajilla Retreat was well located and well appointed
