"We needed a place to stay on our U-Haul trip across the South, and man were we surprised -everything was topnotch - friendly owners to greet you, beautiful common areas, and a large, spacious suite to sleep in. Unfortunately we had an early take-off, thus missing the 9 a.m. full breakfast, but the owner made special scones and had coffee-to-go for us. We'd love to return for a long weekend to enjoy this beautiful historical home again and the adorable town of Jefferson."

"This was such a sweet and well thought out cabin and property! The host thought of everything you would need if you wanted to cook (we didnt do much but if we had wanted to, everything was there) and there were lots of videos, games, and books for entertainment! The best part of this place for us was the large amount of fenced yard for our dog to run and play! And it was so quiet and peaceful out there! The pier is on a cove and we didnt spend much time down there but I am sure it would be good fishing. I also liked that the loft room was enclosed for privacy of upstairs guests and had its own bathroom. We drove out to Caddo Lake State park which is recommended if you want to explore! Its a great park! Also ate at Kitt's in Jefferson and Bear Creek Smokehouse near Marshall. But really, you could stay here and find plenty to do if you didnt want to have to leave! This is a pet friendly cabin as we brought our dog. She loved it! I am not sure if you can see it in the pics, but the fencing has netting to keep dogs from escaping so this was a plus! Only a couple of small things to consider.. the internet is not exactly reliable here.. its here but it can be sketchy especially in the evening. But again, if you are coming to unplug, this wont be a huge matter for you. If you have dogs and want to walk them up and down the street, be aware that there are loose dogs around up the road from the property. Overall, a solid choice for getting out into nature and relaxing! "
