"I felt a little deceived by the main photo in the hotels.com listing for this hotel. It is not a grand castle but a quaint little inn close to amazing castle grounds. I loved walking the grounds- it felt like being in a real life "Pride and Prejudice" book. The breakfast was nice. The staff were helpful. Parking was free. It was nice to be away from the business of Munich. I recommend."

"Stellar. I had no idea german hospitality could be this 5 star. Would recommend to anyone visiting munich, because even though its far from the main tourist attractions, it was absolutely stellar living. Better than the maritim munchen in downtown, which is absolutely 3 star nonsense at best."

"The first room we were sent to was smelling and they moved us to a different room which their safety deposit box wasn't operating. We called the front desk and told them about the problem. After about half an hour a person came to our room and tried to fix it , and told us that he doesn't know what is the problem with the safe. The following day two people came in our room and the safe wasn't finally fixed. We had a dinner invitation in Munich Central the first night , but we didn't want to leave our room with our valuables in the room or leave the room and carry our valuables with us . Unfortunately we missed our meeting and dinner invitation at the first night of our stay."

"The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood about half a mile walk from the nearest grocery store, restaurant, and subway station that takes you right into the middle of Marienplatz Square. The room was a good size with a somewhat functioning kitchenette that offers a microwave, electric kettle and two burner electric stove, though no pots or pans for cooking. It was nice to have a private patio and the large windows made it seem like an indoor outdoor space which is nice. The issues I had were that the restroom doesn’t really have doors. The shower is half open with a frosted wall on only HALF so you have to shower in a corner of it so that the water doesn’t go everywhere onto the rest of the bathroom and the bedroom. The water closet or toilet also only has half a frosted glass. You can’t enclose it for privacy. So if you value privacy when you shower and use the facilities, this is not for you. The other thing, which may not be exclusive to the hotel, was that there was no smart TV so we were limited to the few channels that only transmitted in German, there was not even an option for captions in another language. If you’re used to watching TV after a long day out, this will be an issue. Housekeeping is only if you ask for it and with a 24 hour notice. The staff was friendly and spoke English. "
