"Not up to standards. Definitely not what you would expect from a 4 stars luxury stay, a facility that -according to locals- is "the best in town". While the facility is beautiful and the staff is nice, it pains me to say that, next time, we will consider staying at an AirBnB in the city centre and possibly use the hotels restaurant and facilities - no special treatment is reserved for the hotel guests. We were told that we had to book our dinner in the restaurant in advance and that if we were 15 min late we would loose our table; and I was unable to spend my day at the spa as I was planning. It was fully booked: although the reception managed to book me a last minute massage, and even though it was mothers day, we were highly surprised that being a hotel guest (in one of the supposedly best rooms!) did not grant you any kind of preferred treatment for the spa - and we would have been more than happy to pay good money for it. And finally, the service was not one you would expect from a luxury hotel. Most importantly, I told the staff several times that I was celiac, but they nonetheless served me a regular biscuit reassuring me that it was gluten free (it was not). I am sure it was an innocent mistake, but yet, a very big one, which added to the numerous small ones has made sure that we will not be going back to this hotel."

"Stayed at Dunain Croy farm house with some friends for a 60th birthday getaway. The house is so welcoming, comfortable and in an idyllic setting. We loved the cosy evenings with the log burner lit and toasting marshmallows around the fire pit in the garden. The house is right on the canal and surrounded by fields and trees. We were visited by deer and pheasants and even by the Aurora on our last night. The house had plenty of space and all mod cons. You may want to have a car but even without one we managed to get everywhere we planned to by walking along the canal or a short taxi ride (incl a Loch Ness trip and visit to Urquhart Castle and a good ten mile yomp on the nearby forest tracks. Fabulous break."

"Lovely home, clean and tidy on arrival. Beautiful area if you are looking for a rural retreat. Given it was the festive/new year period, the house had lovely festive touches, which was appreciated. Will definitely be back."

"TravelNess Apartment was absolute perfection. It was incredibly clean, spacious, comfortable. We stayed over the Christmas/New Year holiday and the apartment was nicely decorated for the occasion. It was warm inside when we opened the door. The bedding was very comfortable. The two bathrooms were spacious & perfect for a large family. We were very grateful for the heated clothes drying rack so we could wash & dry our clothes quickly. The breakfast provided was perfect for a quick morning- the kids loved trying all the different jam flavors. We would absolutely stay here again. Loved it! "

"Absolutely beautiful this was our second visit here and it didn’t disappoint. There was a problem with the hot tub but was fixed in a couple of hours well done lads we wanted to thank them before they left. Absolutely perfect place to stay for us we love Scotland and it’s scenery and lovely people too look forward to visiting again."
