It is also the setting of numerous castle and historical sites set in stunning locations including Carreg Cennen, Newtwon House, Dinefwr Castle and Park and the Dolau Cothi Gold Mines (underground tours available). The National Botanic Garden of Wales, with its giant glass dome is well worth a visit at any time of year, while at the coast, Kidwelly Castle and Pembrey Country Park, with its 8 miles of sandy beaches, are must-see day trips.
