Positioned near both the A38 and A30 for easy access and perfect for couples looking to unwind, this cosy cottage is part of a historic 300-year-old barn. Surrounded by 17 acres of serene woodland and meadow, it provides a peaceful setting for leisurely strolls or fishing along the River Fowey. The cottage’s location near the A30 ensures quick access to popular coastal locations such as Looe (10 miles) and Fowey (14 miles). Walk 2 miles from the cottage to reach the fringes of Bodmin Moor, with its many footpaths and trails. Visit the National Trust’s impressive late Victorian country house at Lanhydrock, 5 miles away. Explore the gardens and parkland here, as well as the house, and find a range of cycle trails too. Venture 13 miles to the sandy beach at East Looe to swim and picnic on the sand. National Trust’s picturesque Lantic Bay is about the same distance from the cottage and another great coastal destination. Have a day out to the Eden Project, 12 miles from your base. Truro is only a short drive away.
The porch of this charming property is a great spot to leave coats and shoes before heading through to the hallway, where there is a galley-style kitchen to your left, and a lounge/diner with south-facing windows. In here, you’ll find comfortable furniture, exposed stone walls and a TV. The space is completed by a dining table. Just off the lounge is a double bedroom and a shower room.
Outside, you’ve got a dedicated seating area with a picnic bench and charcoal BBQ. You’re also welcome to relax in the shared outdoor space and head further afield to explore the tranquil surroundings. You’ll also have allocated parking for one car.
