「This hotel is spacious and clean, offering a hot buffet breakfast for free and an indoor, heated salt pool. The parking is ample and you can walk to the pizza shop or sandwich deli. Because it is on the east side of route 1, you can access Lewes, the ferry, or Cape Henlopen state park without getting into traffic on route 1. Midweek prices are very fair, especially off-season. The staff is friendly and welcoming.」

「We were surprised to find crumbs on the floor. in the bedroom! There were some type of flies coming out of the sink until we shoved rag in it! During the night the flies were on the pillow in the bed! Very disappointed that the Clerk that checked us in never gave us the 15% Moose Lodge discount! Cleaning staff was attentive and provided us with extra T Paper when asked and then asked if we needed anything else! My husband was disappointed that the breakfast didn't change up at all...

「Super friendly staff, very helpful. Room was very clean. There was plenty of parking behind the hotel which was situated between a shopping center and a quiet neighborhood. The lobby was spacious and clean as well. Breakfast area was decent. The usual variety of breakfast foods, hot and cold.」

「Room could have been cleaned and maintained better. Bathroom sink didn’t drain properly and toilet paper roll holder was broken. The refrigerator leaked water onto the shelves. Bare feet, foot prints in the shower when we arrived. Manager not that concerned about deficiencies.」

「Location is about 1-2 miles away from the ocean so no "ocean view". We stayed a week prior to the "summer" season starting so parking was easy and close to your room. The rooms, grounds and amenities were extremely clean and well taken care of. Office staff were friendly and very helpful - tended to a small problem right away and very accommodating. Access to the highway and nearby stores was easy - but here again, a bit off-season, I would definitely stay there again.」

「Breakfast menu was fresh. However there were no options for folks who are lactose intolerant and for those who only eat scrambled egg whites. Also, the room was clean except for the few spider webs in the corners of the walls. 」

「This motel was disgusting. Terrible for a beach front area.. place smelled like marijuana cigarettes throughout the whole facility. Property had butted cigarettes all over the ground at one point even their employees were smoking during cleaning out rooms ... Absolutely horrible!!!」

「The bath towels stunk. Refrigerator wasn’t cleaned out. There was a pack of hot dogs left in the refrigerator.」

「We love staying at the Avenue! Breakfast is always warm and tasty and they go above and beyond to make guests comfortable. Love hanging out in the beautiful lobby for wine and cheese or just to take a break from the heat. We will be back again soon!」
