「Good communication. Accommodation as expected, old building, original features. Hands on host, information comprehensive. Clean, comfortable with lots of little extras. Accessible wet room. Great area.」

「The room was nice enough - standard layout and decor as you’d expect for a hotel du vin. Bathroom nice. Corridors looked a little tired but not too bad. Bar and lounge area were ok but nothing special. Terrace is fantastic- or at least the situation is. Served our purpose very well as a place to stay to go to a party nearby. Reception staff very helpful. 」

「The room is good and of a reasonably high standard. There are however two major challenges. The room was on the top floor which from the car park is three flights of stairs. A lot when you’re carrying several large bags and clothes for a wedding. The second big issue is the hall lights on a sensitive room sensor. There is no way to switch this off or lights off. 「To attend conferences, I stayed here. The hotel is so near from the many sightseeing spots of Bristol, also there are a lots nice staffs in the hotel. Moreover, the bar 'the square' which is under the hotel is so good about appreciating the atmosphere and cocktails. When I came back from outside, a room is always kept clean. I really really can spend comfortable time and make nice memories in Bristol. It is highly recommended that you choose the hotel :)」

「Don’t expect anything fancy but it was a good surprise when I stayed a night in their second smallest size of a single room. Very functional and well kept for the price. With a box of Kleenex I would rate them full score!」

「Plenty of space in the familybroom in thenrop turret room. 4 proper beds, 2 together as.a double. Its an old building and hence an old hotel. Great location for clifton and cliften down, once the pub shut it was very quiet. The included breakfast includes any of the hot options. Only disappointment was only filter coffee rather than a bean to cup type machine for espresso based drinks」

「Clean pleasant room that looked recently refurbished, with a kettle and microwave and a enough tea and coffee to survive a night and morning. A fridge and hairdryer was useful. Shower was good, stocked with shampoo and conditioner. Bathroom was clean. Otherwise it was basic but sufficient. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We had one set of neighbours who played very loud music all afternoon until late, but thankfully eventually stopped. At this (cold and wet) time of year the pub...

「This place has been transformed from a house into a 10 room guest house but with virtually no health and safety measures in place or faulty/unusable ones. The rooms, themselves, are ok but small but, again, no PAT Testing done, no fire exits highlighted etc. The showers are filthy and poorly maintained (more water comes out of the hose than reaches the head). All in all avoid at all costs. Fire doors are wedged open and the only fire blanket is very high up.」

「Always a dependable hotel to stay in. Room was quite snug for the price but did the job. Always helpful staff and clean rooms.」

「The room was mostly clean, just the edges of the carpets needed a bit extra but this seems to be quite common in hotels. We was surprised at how big it was. It's a bit dated but was perfect for one night. The bathroom was a good size. Again needs a little tidying up in places but overall was good. Shower was very powerful. Breakfast was great. All the usual choices, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages etc, then cheese, ham, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast, bagels, mini doughnuts, tea, coffee, juices....

「If you like the Bristol Vibe you’ll love this Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy check in and out. Trendy bar/lounge area and bedroom very nicely appointed with very comfortable bed and pillows. Lovely en suite and nice toiletries and fluffy towels/ dressing gowns. Floors could have been cleaner as could Bar area. Convenient parking 5 mins walk away at Cabot Circus multi storey. Useful to note that the Hotel Entrance is on Cave Street ( off Portland Square) Not Portland Square itself.」
