Our whole stay was wonderful. The facilities, the location and the staff were all excellent. This is truly a luxury experience, you are made to feel welcome and special from arrival to departure.
Very attentive staff. Very clean rooms. Great spa. Great cocktails in the Garden Room. Really nice, healthy food in the Spa deli.
Outdoor pool is 20m and heated to 36 degrees in the winter. It’s open from sunrise to sunset.
Getting around the estate is a challenge. Some you can drive. Some you need a buggy which you can either call or drive yourself if you’ve been trained. The signage around the estate is vague at best.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Fantastic service and staff incredibly welcoming and friendly. Beautiful grounds but room was very cold and dim. Heating not working properly, not very warm. Although staff did check it, it wasn’t very warm and a draft coming through. Lighting in the room wasn’t working and then fixed but very dim.
Chaotic service - staff wasn’t aligned on working hours of spa, ice rink etc - I was sent to the spa by the main reception just to hear inside the spa that it just closed and they shouldn’t have sent me there. At the bar, no one took our order for over 20 minutes despite the place not being full. Breakfast was really disappointing.

Beaverbrook is beautiful. But service (despite plenty of staff) is simply too inconsistent/ poorly trained for the price. Examples include a waitress in the deli being harsh with our 4 year old for sitting in her knees to reach the table, being told to wait 2 minutes for our table but being forgotten for 20 minutes, a room which was much too hot (an resulted in an uncomfortable night) despite having asked for it to be turned down (and told that it had) and promises of things being sorted which weren’t. All left a slightly sour taste.
Amazing hotel that offered everything for everyone. The staff are so attentive, the food is delicious. I couldn’t fault it. I have been to stay 3 times and will keep coming back!
Great, if somewhat curtailed stay - due to social distancing measures in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic. Staff incredibly helpful and didn’t charge for our cancelled activities. We’ll be back.
Excellent service and an exquisite estate. Perfect getaway from London. Family friendly. However, mattress and bedding were not as comfortable as I hoped. Room can be small in comparison to hotels in the league of Four Seasons. But, will definitely return.
The property is beautiful and grand, stylish and comfortable. The food was excellent, very nice spa as well.
There were service issues in the main house, mainly slow service in bar. Evening meal in Japanese restaurant was very good but service a bit shambolic..no welcome, no coming to the table to ask if we wanted wine, etc...I felt the waitresses were a bit inexperienced. When they came to the table finally, they just asked if we were ready to order our food. Unfriendly sommelier when I managed to track him down. On the other hand, I could see the top wine sommelier spending a great deal of time with other patrons who clearly knew their wines. Overall though, a lovely special place, and we would return.
Quite simply a faultless experience. Food was superb, their attention to detail second to none, service works class and even didn’t bat an eyelid that we had a two year old and couldn’t have been more helpful. As 5 star hotels go, it is hard to beat.
We had an overnight stay here as in the area for family business. Lots of local history, stunning views , homely atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. The main restaurant is Japanese which isn’t our choice but the garden room offers great Italian / English food with local ingredients and room service menu is good and can be taken in the bar. The breakfast was amazing. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. Spa being built , golf course , activities through the hotel and Lots to do locally . We’ve already booked to go back to make more use of the facilities. Strongly recommended as a special treat.
We were interested in the history of Beaverbrook and the hotel was full of photographs, paintings and memorabilia, which was fascinating. The house is beautiful and the new décor is lovely.
We had a relaxing time and felt well looked after.
I don't like the habit of not providing a piece of soap. Liquid soap is OK of course but it's lovely in a grand hotel to have a cake of expensive soap.
A beautiful house in a lovely location with friendly the service. Perfect for quiet and relaxation. The garden room dining setting is lovely and the food fresh and tasty. The Japanese restaurant, however, was closed on both days of our stay (Sunday and Monday) and there are no gym or other exercise facilities (yet), despite the hotel website indicating otherwise. The hotel is newly opened and has the potential to be "special". At the current time, with limited service and facilities, the premium pricing (rooms aside, the breakfast was expensive) is not warranted.
