The room and bed were great. Upon arrival, I found a note on my door stating the property would be doing upgrades the week I was there and access to my room would be required by workers. When I called the front desk, the woman verified that was correct. I did express that wasn’t ok with me, I didn’t want workers randomly showing up and being in my room. The clerk became defensive and dismissive. It was rude and I didn’t appreciate booking a room and then showing up to the possibility of workers in my room. It felt like a pretty big ask. Just shut down what you need to renovate and don’t disturb your guests.

Overnight rate for valet was unreasonable even for the area, sink in the room wouldn’t drain.

We had a lovely time there. The hotel is very cool. And it’s right across the street from The Menil Collection, which was the reason for our stay.
