What a beautiful place to stay. A quiet wonderful place surrounded by trees. We got to stay in a private cabin with a double room, and our own outdoor sitting area. The room was exceptionally clean, and well maintained. I had to contact the property with questions, they responded quickly and their customer service was excellent. We will definitely be back and have found our new getaway spot 😊

I have stayed at the ponderosa for may years. My experience there was always outstanding. However, the property has changed hands,and all interactions are dealt with online. No staff is present at the property. I for one,do not endorse this type of arrangement. I will not book with them again.

This could be so great if a few things were taken care of: 1. Communication was difficult due to no cell service, barriers with no office or onsite staff and faulty locks 2. Darling cabins and decorating minus mouse poop on the floors, lack of lamps and side tables and hard bed 3. Would be nice to have map of hiking trails in area and tv stations 4. Coffee pot not working

Comfortable, clean and convenient. The room was spacious with a large bed, microwave and fridge. There was plenty of coffee, and salt and pepper. Parking was convenient, just outside our cabin. The bathroom was newly decorated . The weather was very warm but the aircon worked well. We would stay here again.

This set of cabins is nestled in the trees. We had a porch to sit on in the evening and enjoy the cool breeze. It was so hot during the day during our outings, it was nice to enjoy the evening cool down! There was an abundance of charging ports, which is a huge plus when you have a ton of electronics to charge. It was very clean, lots of soft towels. You can tell the owners care about what they are renting to folks. The Keurig, and coffee pods were a nice surprise! The owner even included the best smelling shampoo, conditioner and body wash! Beds were clean and comfortable,there was even an extra blanket at the end of each bed, just in case it got chilly from the cold AC! There were restaurants and stores just down the street, which is very convenient. Check in was super easy, the owner sent a message with all of the information we needed to get into the room. Check out was just as easy! If you need a clean, comfortable, quiet place to say, Ponderosa Pines should be what you are booking!

We selected Ponderosa Pines because it was the most reasonably priced of the many hotels in the Deadwood/Spearfish area. We could not have been more pleased!! This little (probably Vintage 1950's motel) room #20 was spotless, with such a fresh, clean feel, contemporary furnishings, gleaming appliances, bathroom. Nice long front porch outside our room, with chairs and table for morning coffee and reading, and old stagecoach in the grass beyond. Would love to stay again.

We had the basic room, #15. The check-in process via email was easy. Upon entering the room we observed there was no seating other than sitting on the beds. There were no night stands or tables so we used the refrigerator as our table. In our opinion there was ample room for a couple folding chairs and side table/night stand. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure. In the middle of our second night, we woke to a scratching noise. We determined a mouse had entered the room and was eating in a bait station behind the refrigerator. We immediately removed our belongings off of the floor. This is where a luggage stand would be appreciated. The next morning we contacted the host with our problem and he immediately started working on a solution. Within a couple hours we were moved to another cabin on the property. We didn't have any issues the last two nights of our stay. Overall, minus the one issue, we had a good stay. Great location, close to numerous attractions.

During the winter storm, they were kind enough to accommodate us and help us get out safely. They were extremely understanding of the situation and we felt very supported by them.
