5 / 5 Excellent
We traveled with our Ohana (group of 13), ages 8-73. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for the group. The grandparents stayed on the main level due to not being able to maneuver the steep staircase to lower level - *note that there are a few large steps from kitchen/dining area down to the family room. The teenagers loved playing on the pool table (downstairs).
We ended up eating out for most meals, but found enough dishes/pots/pans for the little cooking we did do. We enjoyed eating and shopping at the Polynesian Cultural Center - a favorite was North Shore Crepes. The house is older, so you need to keep expectations as such. It got hot inside (outside avg low 80s during the day while we were there), but the fans and wall air conditioners helped, as well as keeping the sliding doors open downstairs. We made friends with the geckos who helped with bugs that came in and chirped at us in the evenings. The owner was very responsive and proactive about repairs that needed to be done during our stay (one washer was scheduled for repair, but there was another available to use).
We had a great time doing a variety of activities during the day - Sea Life Park, Pearl Harbor, kayaking to Moluki'i Island, excursions at Kualoa Ranch, and went to an awesome luau at Experience Nutridge. The views at this house cannot be beat!! We loved listening to the ocean all day and night, and even got to star gaze on the lanai! It was a short walk to a semi-private beach which we were able to snorkel at, and going down the street to Laie State Point Wayside had amazing view as well. Overall, it was a beautiful location and we made many wonderful memories!
