Land of OZ and Ends

I had stayed at this property previously, but will not be staying here again. The room was clean enough, the bed comfortable enough. Plenty of towels, although they were very, very thin. More like something you would relegate to car-washing rags. After checking in, I went to my car to retrieve my luggage. There was a *very* disheveled man, barefoot, seemingly unhoused, walking across the parking lot, who sat down on the steps adjacent to the side entrance. As I approached, laden with luggage, he jumped up, pulled a keycard from his pocket and opened the door for me. A hotel guest, perhaps? Very polite, clearly harmless, but not a little disconcerting. The stairwell on the Seminary Ave side of the building had a large puddle of water on the floor, Based upon the color, it must have been there for quite a while. The stairwell on the John St side of the building had a strong urine smell. Both stairwells were dirty and in need of a good scrubbing and a coat of paint. And despite this being a non-smoking property, the odor of weed was easily discernible on the first floor, John St side of the building. Was it hotel guests, or people I saw hanging around outside the door?

A filthy motel with weird guest, inept staff and shoddy maintenance.

The staff was accommodating while our room was not ready yet. I thought it was a continental breakfast but it was made to order and one of us didn't have time to wait so we skipped it altogether.
