"I loved this unique hotel, it was a tick off the bucket to stay in the rainforest! The staff are so friendly and the food is excellent and great value for money. It is very easy to get to the animal centres and I was still able to access the internet so could order grab taxis. I’d definitely recommend bringing bug spray!
100% would recommend, where else can you stay in the rainforest?!"

"Perfectly located for the Sepilok orang utan and Borneo bear sanctuaries! Also the RDC!
The hotel is set in a beautiful location and is full of stunning views! The owners were very welcoming and willing to share their passionate stories about the hotel!
Breakfast was good - different on both mornings. Tasty and light food to set you up for the days! Dinner was also good - nice menu catering for everyone.
The rooms are clean and simple - just how they should be in a rain forest!

"This place is such a dump for the price. We stayed in a standard room which was a dump. Only one plug for the entire room. water heater didn't work. There was not even any way to make a cup of tea by boiling water in the room. Aircon couldn't keep the room cool during the afternoon. The breakfast really sucked. all in all, this is way overpriced for what you get. But, I guess that's the sad story of Sabah in general. People keep booking crap. So, resorts keep providing crap for their guests. "
"Had booked for 2 nights but left after 1 night! Terrible experience!
Mindful this is a 2 star resort but the place was dilapidated, unkempt & stinking.
Resort is in lush tropical setting but the whole place is neglected. Very tacky decor with concrete or plastic painted to look like wood/rustic. The place was a mess - boxes, rubble, general stuff lying everywhere.
Staff are uninterested & generally loiter around.
The pool was vile! A layer of scum & dirty around the tiles and the water was cloudy with lots of debris - we even found a bandaid floating.
The wooden lounge beds were rotten wood and so uncomfortable.
There was a pungent smell of dirty water throughout.
Room was primitive with a flimsy door - didn’t feel safe at all. Given a bath towel but no hand towel - bath towel was frayed & very grubby.
The bed & pillow were hard as hell and lumpy!! Woke up with a sore back
Breakfast was rotten.
We left the next day - staff didn’t even acknowledge or ask how was our stay!
The only positive is it’s close to the sunbears & orangutan sanctuaries.
Sepilok is a lovely area but consider paying a bit more for somewhere better (the Nature Resort across the road was great)."
"We stayed one night so that we could do the night walk at RDC. Only 5 minute walk away. Breakfast was lovely and access to a drinking water machine meant we could fill our flask. Needed in the heat!
All in all, very nice stay."
"Rooms never serviced. Bring your own shower gel and shampoo. Thin towels and only two per room. Cold breakfast from the buffet. Could do with having a drinks and snacks cabinet. Lumited cold drinks when resturant shut. Nothing around there shop wise. Bring supplies. On the plus the people at the desk were good. And walking distance to Orang-Utan, Sun Bear and RDC. Or 4 ringets in taxi, so cheap."
"It was only a brief stopover before a river cruise so didn't expect much and I guess it met expectations. Area around the hotel was a little dirty and there wasn't much to walk to. Hotel room was basic (fine) and the sheets and floor were clean. Bathroom wasn't as clean. Had a TV but it came with a 2 prong plug ??? Which makes no sense when its a 3 prong country! Breakfast very limited for western palate - no fruit or breaded things apart from toast. Overall as expected - not sure it's 3 star though "
