The house is quite nice and comfortable. We really enjoyed the sunroom, fireplace, and fire pit in particular, and it was great to be able to bring my dog. Overall our stay was very relaxing and quiet, and we slept better than we have in years!
Our problems were very minor but I'm putting them in the review because they are useful for future guests to know before they arrive.
The owners left a note on the fridge saying that the grill needed to be lit manually, but we couldn't get it to work at all. It had basically disintegrated inside. This was a significant inconvenience for us because all the food we brought with us was intended to be grilled. We made do, but it would have been nice to know in advance. Which led to another small observation: although the kitchen is amply stocked with utensils and cookware, there isn't a regular skillet. Just something to know if you're used to having one.
This is about the island rather than the house, but is also helpful to know: bring EVERYTHING you need. The grocery store is really more of a small convenience store, and they're open very limited hours. Presumably because of COVID but possibly just because it's island life, restaurants aren't reliably open. If we hadn't brought food, we would have been going hungry the first night. And fill your gas tank before you get here. We had to drive more than I anticipated and there's no gas station on the island.
