Private Beach and Endless Water
Rarely does a rental property combine over 300 feet of pristine private beach with an affordable, home on over two acres of lawn and mature trees on Madeline Island.
This is a destination property where family and friends are sure to return year after year, a retreat that is quiet and secluded, a place to smell the pines, listen to the whisper of the winds, dream across Lake Superior’s south shore to the Porcupine Mountains.
Everywhere you turn in this two bedroom home, you’ll find new furniture and appliances throughout like a new stove/oven, gas grill and firepit as well as many fun features like the outdoor shower.
The expanse of lawn has been known to accommodate tent guests as well who’d like to experience nature close-in beneath the clear and incomparable starry skies of Northwestern Wisconsin.
And all of this is within a bike ride to Big Bay town park, restaurants, shops, golf course, marina and so much more – like Madeline Island’s museum, art and pottery stores and, of course, Wood’s Hall and its locally hand-woven rugs and tapestries.
Please contact us to discuss any special wants or needs you may have. We’re confident you will enjoy this get-away in every respect.

The private beach right across the street was just what we needed. House was easy to check into and clean. Grill and firepit at the house were nice to have.
Stayed on the island for years, renting different properties. Property Manager was very responsive via email and phone for any questions. Place was very clean. Kayaks onsite to use, Fire pit. Outdoor hose and shower was a great bonus. Great beach. Would rent place again.
The beach on this property is amazing and cannot be beat! We spent hours enjoying the beautiful view and nice sand. The house is a manufactured home, but it was very clean and comfortable for our family of four. It also has a large yard and two fire pits (one at the beach) to enjoy. The outdoor shower was a fun perk as well. I would definitely book it again.
This place needs lots and lots of TLC (tender loving care)!
We left a long list of suggestions. We hope they will be acted upon. 🤔
We enjoyed the yard and beach😉
Enjoyed the location - the beach front is worth the stay. The house was perfect for our family of two adults and two kids. Full kitchen so able to bring groceries and cook meals to avoid having to travel into town daily. The location is secluded and located on a beautiful part of the island. Large grass area for us to play games. We went to all of the 4th of July activities - highly recommend. Thank you for sharing your space with us!
This property is the perfect quintessential Madeline island vacation spot. The home feels like we are visiting grandma on the island, cozy and clean! The large kitchen and washer and dryer was perfect after a long day at the beach! The beach is quiet, sandy perfection. We barely saw another human during our entire stay. We had the beach, the lake and the moon all to ourselves. We were able to let our kids (10 and 15) wander to the beach and play in the spacious yard. The kayaks were also an amazing addition too! We played for hours and hours on them. We have been visiting the island for nearly a decade in our RV and this property was a game changer. We will continue to book this place for many more vacations. If you haven’t stayed on the island before you should know this home is an incredible opportunity to get to stay on this quiet portion of land on this part of the island. You don’t get a private beach experience like this at this price point typically. Alan was kind and attentive and great to work with. Book this place!!! It’s worth every penny!
Very little traffic and very quiet beach. It was early in the year before tourist season but very quiet neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again. House was very clean.
we had a really lovely time on Madeline Island. The house was just what we needed - modest, but with all the necessary amenities to cook a meal, relax and enjoy the water. The access across the road was easy and convenient. The kayaks were awesome! We had an early snag where the property had not been fully cleaned from the previous guests but Alan was on it immediately and offered compensation for the hassle which was much appreciated! Highly recommend!
Rented this trailer for a girls weekend. Very clean and budget friendly. It's on the quieter side of the island, which was great for us. The beach is across the street. I must have missed that in the description, but it was a great quiet beach and not a problem once we checked in.

photos were misleading
We loved the location but were surprised to discover a mobile home. That said the home was solid. 10 miles from town and a private beach.
Brought my elderly parents up for a week. We were all very pleased with the accommodations. We wished there had been a vacuum for us to use since we had our dog with, but otherwise it was perfect. Loved that there was space in the cupboard to put our food in. Will try to come again next year!

Island Wedding
Pictures portrayed different then what we expected. No outside shots. Didn’t know it was a double wide. And the lake was actually across the street and down the road
We arrived to a clean home on a large piece of property with lots of room for our dog. The home had everything we needed for our week’s stay.
The walk to the beach took 1 minute across the road. Easy to find and the short trail well maintained. The beach itself was perfect. Fire pit near the top of the beach was in great shape. The beach is a combination of soft sand and a few small rocks. We were able to walk out into Lake Superior approx 75-80 yards and enjoy the warm water.
Our host was great leading up to our visit answering questions quickly. He was also quick to respond when we needed him during the week.
Access to a clean home, a large yard with a grill and picnic table and private beach makes this location a place we will visit again.

Great potential
It is a great spot, just across the street from a beautiful sandy beach. The place itself was clean and nicely laid out. Our issue was that the description said it had TV, however it did not have cable. Alan was kind enough to order a smart TV for us to pick up at Walmart (he was out of town). Unfortunately the internet was not working so the new TV did not work. It was frustrating and Alan was not great at communicating in a timely manner. He did let us leave early and refunded the rest of our money. I think once he gets all of his amenities in order, and improves his timely communication with guests, this will be a great place to stay.
Overall the trailer house could use some TLC. Before we even got home he made and insurance claim for $1500 for a screen door that was broken before we got there. Didn't even contact us prior. Apparently insurance scamming is how he plans to make improvements?? 🤷 If you rent here make sure you have the insurance - you will probably need it. It's really sad how the world is these days and how some people operate.
The private beach is absolutely beautiful. The kitchen is nice and the yard and bon fire area great. The back bedroom has a window AC and the trailer stayed a comfortable temperature.
We did run out of tp, so maybe pack an extra roll if you are staying more than a couple of days.

Deceived renter
Highly inaccurate representation of the home. Never in a million years would I have paid this amount of money for a mobile home . The beach front picture and description was deceptive making me believe it was right in the front yard when in fact we had to walk across the highway and down a path to get to, so forget the chairs and cooler unless you make multiple hikes back and forth. Hallway has a soft spot in floor that one will soon step through. Screen entry door was broken and not useable , in fact would not even close and had to be propped open the entire stay or else have to listen to loud banging noise all night. Master bedroom window blinds were damaged and hanging loose and unuseable to render privacy and sunlight control. Overall a great visit to the area but embarrassing to me when my girlfriend saw the condition of what I had rented....
This spot was perfect for my spouse and I and our dog for a fall getaway. The beach is super accessible and gorgeous for sunsets and dog swimming even in October. We were actually glad the house was across the street as a little windbreak from the lake (still has a great lake view) and the huge yard was heaven with beautiful trees and grass for our dog. House itself was super comfortable. Perfect location for a fall weekend of hiking around the island and the colors were out in full force! Gorgeous and affordable spot. Thanks Alan!
Property was clean and comfortable, Everything thing ready for a great weekend on Madeline Island. Great access to a beautiful private beach. We would definitely stay again
