No words to explain!! The staffs, management, property, food, cleaness etc each and every thing was excellent!! If you are looking for a place to stay in Kozhikode, Kerala, India then this is the place I would recommend, it is worth the money!!

Great stay but bedrooms need refreshing.

Have stayed at the Gateway for several years now. It’s very comfortable with excellent swimming pool and amazing buffet breakfast. Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The hotel itself has changed little over the years and is in need of an upgrade to compete with new hotel in the market

Adequate stay

Reasonable , average stay. Rooms were fairly comfortable. It was a bit strange seeing guests bringing their pets (loudly barking dogs) into hotel rooms - not sure why that was allowed. Food was reasonable. We had trouble with the TV and they misunderstood the issue and we had to ultimately figure it out ourselves. Somewhere between a 3-4 star experience.

Gateway hotel at Calicut is part of the Taj group and it reflects in the excellent customer service . Right from arranging early check in to the checkout everything is smooth and dealt with a smile . The staff are the biggest asset of this hotel and they go beyond the usual to help out and satisfy customers. The breakfast spread is awesome and again the staff are very attentive to your needs . Special mention to Shinoy in the restaurant for his excellent attitude. The housekeeping staff were amazing as well . The hotel is very clean and the swimming pool is well maintained. Overall a very good experience

Fantastic service

Excellent hotel, service and food. We had breakfast and dinner. The swimming pool and facilities are excellent. This is the only TAJ with Ayurvedic treatment centre where we did a Ayurvedic massage. Overall I highly recommend this hotel

Just spent a week here. Loved every minute. A soft sand beach is less than a 10 minute walk. If you do visit, I am sure you will be happy

Stay was good but the check in process took long time!! Usually We don’t expect this from Taj but the front office personals need a good training. Same I felt in Trivandrum Vivanta last week.

The property was good , staffs were super nice and great service but the bed was so hard like a solid piece . It’s not comfortable at all, when you come to a hotel like Gateway with an expectation of great sleep , it didn’t happen for me.

Lovely Taj experience.

We’ve stayed at the Gateway many times, every year for the past four years. It’s located in a quiet area with some new coffee shops and eateries nearby. Buffet breakfast is great. The service is impeccable, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The large pool is fabulous. It’s has an old world charm and guests are made to feel valued. A special mention for Tijo duty manager. We shall be back

stay was ok, but the restaurant service should be improved. there was a lady who wont smile at all and to me that is a big thing when i am in a restaurant. the security and front office staff are really courteous

Hotel old and showing its age, but great service!

The hotel is old, and the rooms are now showing the age. Checked in late – the next morning spent a couple of hours getting the room fixed. Broken hand faucet, Fridge not working, tea coffee maker not working etc etc. On the positive side, housekeeping was very responsive and kept fixing everything once I pointed out to them. I really hope the hotel management fixes the hotel because at heart this is a good hotel.
