Charming Hotel in Bustling Kolkata

A charming boutique hotel, perfectly situated, with an exceptional team. The room is delightful and inviting. It’s an ideal retreat from the unyielding energy of Kolkata’s hustle and the sweltering weather! I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone who appreciates the warmth of a small hotel experience.

Good but not great. Centrally located, clean and with friendly staff. My room, and apparently most rooms, lacked natural light. Lunch and dinner options at the hotel were very good, but breakfast options were quite limited.

Generally good. Lovely Heritage hotel. Nice rooms. Short ride from Park Street and the tourist attractions but nothing that great near the hotel. Staff were generally pleasant. Main issue was hygiene. Whilst the hotel appeared clean, I saw a mouse in the restaurant one evening and a member of staff putting a used plate back in the cupboard without washing.

Short stay

A hotel to be clearly avoided on the weekends. Reached late on Friday night and checked in at @1am. But could not sleep even thereafter - pulsating music from the night club went on till the wee hours of the morning and it is clearly heard in the room! Otherwise service was good - wifi was good and the location is quite convenient

Great location

I have to give them 5* just for the location and the great staff. From reception to housekeeping and security, everybody is very friendly and trying their best. The property itself is tired. No lobby or lounge as such, no elevator. I saw some elderly people struggle on the stairs. Their traditional suites are larger rooms with a small couch. The heritage is there but I would rate the property an average 2* and it is overpriced.

The Astor is a nice hotel but there is NO ELEVATOR. The room on the second floor is a.lot.of steps. If you have mobility issues, a heart condition etc. do not book the Astor.

Very nice hotel, highly recommendable. bad wifi

We were two friends staying at the Astor for a weekend getaway in Kolkata. Hotel Astor was very nice, clean and the beds were super comfy. Really liked the feel of the hotel and the staff were nice and friendly. The only downside was that we had big problems with the Wi-Fi, that kept disconnecting. Sadly the staff did not seem to eager to help us solve it, or could not as the code system they had put in place was very complicated. Also, there could only be one person connected at a time from each room, which is just not good enough. Breakfast was ok, but nothing spectacular.

Excellent location close to everthing

With very attentive and helpful staff. The restaurant serves excellent kebabs. There are tons of eateries close to the hotel as well. The hotel does not have a pool, the only drawback. Overall an excellent place to stay.

Great Heritage Hotel in the Heart of the Cityl!!

Located right in the heart of the city - Park Street, The Astor is an old Heritage Property which has been converted into a Beautiful hotel. Got an early check in into the Hotel without any hassles. The Front Staff Personnel - all of them were extremely helpful in almost everything from advising how and where to go. Breakfast was good too - just wish they has some more options for Vegetarians like me!! Plan to recommend it to anybody who wishes to stay in Kolkata including myself:) Overall a Fabulous Stay and I would rate it a 4.5 on 5!!!
