Tides Inn is a 4 bedroom home tucked into the quaint streets of Southern Shores. Enjoy the short walk or bike ride to the nearby beach access with ramp and life guard. Plan your next getaway where you can enjoy plenty of fishing, water sports, golfing, hang gliding, bicycling and much more!!

This lovely home is appointed with many extras to make your vacation one to remember. From the private Volley Ball court where you can challenge your friends and family to a friendly game to the peaceful Hot Tub area with a park style grill and sitting area.

Tides Inn has been implemented with stainless steel appliances, gorgeous tile floors in the bathrooms, hard wood floors in the living area and carpet in the bedrooms. There are private decks on both levels so you can enjoy some sun, or better yet, do some OBX stargazing by night.

The upper level of our home includes a Great room with vaulted ceiling, flat screen TV/DVD, Surround sound, Wii, and sliding doors to access your large sun deck overlooking mature trees. Dining area with table for 6; kitchen bar seating for 4; Gourmet Kitchen that any cook would love with stainless steel appliances, large pantry and plenty of counter space for prep work. 1 Bedroom (Master with Queen, private bath, TV, DVD, 2 closets and private deck); half bathroom.

The middle level of your home away from home includes 3 Bedrooms (1 Master Queen, private bath, TV, DVD and private deck, 1 with 2 Twins, TV, DVD and private deck overlooking the trees and 1 with bunk bed, TV and PlayStation with games); full hall bathroom.

The bottom level includes under house parking, dry entry and laundry. This house also features a private outdoor shower and changing area for easy de-sanding when you get back from the beach.

During your well deserved vacation try your luck at surf fishing and crabbing or enjoy just sitting and watching the pelicans fish. Spend the day shopping in Timbuck II or in the town of Duck then enjoy one of the many fine restaurants. Climb the Currituck Light House. Take a drive South on Highway 12 to Hatteras Island and Hatteras Lighthouse and enjoy the over 70 miles of undeveloped National Seashore.

Continue south and ride the ferry to Ocracoke Island. Visit Roanoke Island and the North Carolina Aquarium. Take a chartered fishing trip from Oregon Inlet, known for some of the best fishing along the Atlantic Coastline. Play a round of golf at the Currituck Club.

Tides Inn is a leisurely 10 minute walk to the beach, or if you prefer, a three minute bike ride! Unlike other OBX beach locations, our beach has a lifeguard on duty during the summer season. This vacation home is known for being a great place for a family vacation on a quiet street. Consider this your own private getaway while still being close to the OBX's fun shopping and restaurants.

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The house worked well for 3 adult couples. It’s in a nice neighborhood for walking or biking and also to reach the trail along Duck Rd. The parking passes made it very convenient to go to the beach with all our beach supplies. We enjoyed our trip very much. Thank you Carol!

Lovely stay & responsive Host

We had a lovely stay at the Tides Inn. The location was excellent -- tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, a short drive from downtown Duck and very close to a lovely beach access point (we found the Hillcrest parking area to be very convenient with very nice facilities) and the sound. The home was as described -- very comfortable, AC worked great, clean, nice kitchen. The hot tub and outdoor shower were excellent. The host was very responsive and replied quickly to messages. We highly recommend a stay in this home!

Outstanding Beach House!

Great OBX Getaway

Beach Vacation

Had a wonderful time at the Outer Banks. This was our first time at the Outer Banks and we loved the house and the beach. The property we rented was a great central location. We loved that we did not have to take chairs, boogie boards etc. Also, loved seeing all the deer in our neighborhood. Carol was very easy to work with and always answered any questions in a timely manner. Would definitely rent this property again.

Tides Inn

The house was as described in the listing. Very spacious and in good condition as well. Bath towels/kitchen towels are not included (sheets and blankets are). Owner did notify me via email after I booked that towels were not included, however, I think it should be stated in the listing. Other than that, we had no issues. It was a nice house in a residential area. Walk to the beach was about 10 min. Beach was very nice and not crowded.

Mostly good except for the WiFi

The good - hot tub was nice, clean, private. Beach parking with pass was very convenient and very short walk after parking. Water was the most clear I’ve ever seen at obx. Neighborhood very quiet and there was a beach cart to bring stuff to the beach easier. The kinda bad - mattresses weren't great. The walk to the beach from the house isn’t bad, but to say it’s a 5 min leisurely walk is inaccurate. Says bathrooms come with towels, which was later clarified as hand towels, but for our stay, there was neither. Also, the house was a little smaller than I envisioned from the pics. The ugly - We like streaming movies at night when our families get together at obx but the WiFi is almost non existent. Never measured higher than 1MB/sec and mostly hovered around 100-200 kbs. So streaming was out. We informed the hosts right away, called spectrum ourselves (twice) when they didn’t immediately offer to resolve the problem themselves. The hosts reminded us that books, board games and some dvds are available. They did set up an appointment with spectrum to have it looked into afterwards but it doesnt sound like the problem has been resolved yet as spectrum said their lines are fine so I assume it’s a problem with the router but I’m no technician, I just know it didn’t work well for any of us the entire time. So lots of good things and a few minor bad things and then the WiFi which is really bad. Once they fix the WiFi I would recommend it to others, no problem.

This house is amazing!!

The home is amazing, location amazing, distance to the beach is 2 minute drive with a private parking lot. It was our first family vacation with our daughter and we couldn’t have had a better time. Definitely would stay here again

Our group (4 adults, 2 infants) loved our stay at Tide's Inn. The house is absolutely gorgeous, well-stocked, and located super close to the beach. Carol was incredibly responsive and so nice when we had a small issue come up. We loved everything about Tide's Inn and would highly recommend it!

Relaxing getaway in Southern Shores

We enjoyed spending our vacation at the Tides Inn! It had all of the wonderful amenities we could ask for and more. We spent time in the hot tub, biked to the beach and all of the local shops, and to the marina to watch the beautiful sunset. The surrounding trees and woods provided solitude on the back deck where we spent several moonlit nights. Thank you for letting us spend our vacation at your beautiful home!

Making Memories at Tides Inn

Tides Inn was perfect for our 2 family vacation! The teens loved the ability to go to and from the beach on foot themselves and the parents felt safe enough to allow it.
