One-of-a-kind cottage in lower Kings Beach! This unique cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or a small family to stay.

• MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: FOUR (4) TOTAL PERSONS including children
*Any guest age 12 or greater is considered an adult by Placer County*

• PET POLICY: Pets are negotiable with rules and an additional fee of $50 (plus tax) PER PET PER STAY. All pet fee(s) may not be included in the total price shown for your booking and will be automatically added and/or requested separately.

• NO A/C: Like 99% of homes here in Lake Tahoe, this property DOES NOT have air conditioning, but fans will be provided when needed.

• PARKING: Limited to TWO (2) vehicles but there may be fewer spaces when snow conditions exist. No street parking is permitted.

• DISCLOSURES:
*This home has cameras on site. Located at the exterior only.
*Yard is fully fenced but, is only about 3.5 feet high in the front.
*Cabin does not have a dishwasher.
* Some amenities offered are seasonal. Grill, Kayak, Bikes, Upper Deck are available only in the peak summer months.

This unique home is located in the heart of Kings Beach! The property known as “The Gingerbread Cottage” by locals has a distinct look inside and out.

The intimate octagon family room on the main floor has a TV and a Blu-Ray (with Wi-Fi) player with surround sound and a Firestick to stream your personal Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. Stay warm on those cool nights with the convenience of the freestanding gas stove. This room can also function as a second sleeping area with the use of the new queen sleeper sofa.

The main floor bathroom has a slate walk-in shower with a gentle rain shower head. Additional note: this toilet area is tightly built like being on a boat, so may not be best for larger individuals.

Enjoy cooking with a fully furnished kitchen and high-top dining table and gas fireplace. Unpack and stay awhile using the new, unitized washer and dryer.

Inside, you can snuggle in the queen-sized bed with the comforts of memory foam and quality linens under a 20-foot teepee CEILING in the octagon-shaped, large primary suite. And, enjoy the bright, updated bath with heated porcelain floors. You can also access the private upper deck.

In the Summer, you'll love having two decks, one for grilling and one rooftop for views, and use of bikes and kayaks, you might spend just as much time outside as inside! With the most unique house in the area and a prime location, you cannot go wrong with this romantic Gingerbread Cottage!

Lovely little quirky cottage

The cabin was cozy, quiet, and features a fantastic bed! The backyard is bigger than the house, private, and well appointed with chairs and tables. The ability to walk into town in a few blocks but not hear it from the cottage was amazing.Older property but full of charm. Definitely recommend for a small group. Two full bathrooms a plus.

Magical stay

Cozy cottage that captures a rustic feel and charm, without going overboard. Beautiful in the snow. Well appointed kitchen. Size is just right for couples or a small group, but it's not large. Good restaurants nearby and close to the slopes. Very happy we stayed!

Beautiful backyard!

My mom and I stayed for a few days, to get out of the city. This was the perfect little home for the 2 of us. The backyard was my favorite part. So beautiful and peaceful. We were very comfortable.

The best getaway!

My husband and I needed a little getaway and the Gingerbread Cabin was the perfect place to get away from all of life’s hustles and bustles. We were able to take a few steps back and relax, snuggle, read books and be cozy near the fire. This cute cabin hits all the feels ♥️

This rental had everything we needed and was so close to town. A very cute well thought out rental and we would love to stay again. The only thing that was kind of a bummer was that the snow in the backyard and the balcony was not safe enough to walk around in (up to my waist) but nothing they could control!

Adorable little cabin

Very clean, and adorable cabin. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and absolutely loved it. Many places to eat, and shop nearby. Neighborhood was quiet. Nice peaceful surroundings is what we wanted, and that's what we got. If I could suggest anything, a window a/c unit upstairs for the summer would be great. It got warm up there, and didn't really cool down until later, even with all the windows open.

Lovely but limited

The location was convenient for shops and beaches, but the orientation of the home during the warm season was such that the patios were quite hot in the evenings when we returned from the lake. There is a strict rule to not be outside past 9pm, when the patio and lights were lovely. The cottage was well appointed and clean. The couch and beds were comfortable. A winter stay would be preferable, so the warmth of the upstairs room would be appreciated more. The check in and out process was a breeze.

Charming but run down.

Left a day early. Too hot to sleep upstairs where the beds are. Door opens half way in what passes for a bathroom on first floor. Most everything in the house wore out 10 years ago. Outside area was very nice but not cared for and dirty. No hose outside or broom to clean up ourselves. Charm only goes so far.

The stink that won’t go away!!

Walking through door my wife said I smell mildew. I said mildew and a lot worse! The epicenter of the bad smell is the kitchen. I am a winemaker and winery owner. I have a heightened sense of smell. I had to keep every window open 24 hours to deal with the odor. The place needs a lot of tlc and a new indication of pride of ownership. We left a day early. The smell got me!! All in all it sucked.

First I loved that it has its own driveway, great back yard with fire-pit, the outside balcony was awesome, kitchen though small was still spacious, bedroom up stairs has it's own full bath and old victorian kind of style. I have to give some negatives to keep it real, Strainers missing in some faucets, Towel in the shower had a humid smell(maybe don't hang one there previously). That's really it. Other than that, I would definitely stay there again when in Lake Tahoe.

A Bit Worn and Creaky

Looked much better in the pictures. Worn and stained carpets, creaky and steep stairs with wobbly handrail. TV did not work and it took 2 days and multiple phone calls to mgt company before someone came out at 7pm to fix it (took 1/2 hour). The yard was a nice place to sit and our dog enjoyed it very much. Bed is comfortable.

Lovely Property

A great location for Kings Beach and a lovely clean property. Spacious and relaxing back yard. Ideal for a couple, individual or Mom/Dad with little ones. Our Labrador LOVED all the smells in the back yard and exploring the nooks and crannies.
