Diane and Earl, owners of the property, were extremely hospitable. My guests and I were sitting on the beach under the cabana enjoying the sea breeze, very unexpectedly Diane presented us with ice cream....good touch
This is our second time at Nathan’s lodge and it won’t be the last one. Everything is great here and it’s the perfect spot to recharge and disconnect from the world. Mr Freeman, Diana, Pablo and everyone here in the island are lovely and kind. We’ll be back!
Nathan's lodge is a wonderful place and I would never want to stay anywhere else. I drove around the whole island from Driggs Hill all the way to Mars Bay, and I saw a lot of places. I still would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. It is wonderful, wonderful, peaceful, happy, and calm. Unlike some visitors to Andros, I do not have a lot of money, but even if I did have a lot of money, I still would never stay anywhere but Nathan's. It was like home to me and I was sad to leave. I had my own kitchen and a lovely view from my little porch. There were lovely Gardens around the property and some forested area. There was a fabulous Cabana where I hung my hammock and just watched the sea. I wanted for nothing. Freeman was fantastic and took care of everything. If I wanted to be able to drink coconut water from a coconut, he brought me four of them! No request was too hard to be filled. It's a wonderful place and the staff is kind and helpful. It was clean and quiet and peaceful and the sea is gorgeous right there. The beach is beautiful. There's a dive shop a 10-minute walk up the beach. I could not have asked for more.
It is a very quiet location next to a lovely beach, room was large and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make the stay very good. Early breakfast and coffee were ready each day, as I was fishing.
We stayed at the studio, which was very outdated and needs restauration. It seemed that the smaller rooms next to the Lounge/Bar/Kitchen building were actually renovated and much nicer. Unfortunately they were advertised as being equipped with 2 small beds instead of a queen size or larger. Since my husband and I prefer to sleep together we wanted the bigger bed and booked the studio.
The beach was nice and you are basically alone there, very relaxing!
The dinners provided by a local cook started out being very good, but unfortunately the quality declined after the first 2 days.
Overall, the daily rate ($200/day including breakfast for us) was overpriced for the value.
We stayed at Nathan's Lodge with a group of 12 after staying on Paradise Island. It was the complete opposite in a good way. The hotel property is on an amazing beach. Beautiful white sand and crystal clear water. We had six kids of various ages in our group and they all had a blast in the water. I never saw anyone else on the beach. There is a gazebo at the edge of the property if you want to get out of the sun.
There are only a few restaurants in the area so we mainly ate at Nathan's. They took fantastic care of us. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. The table was decorated with beautiful flowers from the grounds. Coconuts were harvested from the property for drinks and desserts. Everyone there was so nice.
It was difficult getting information online about activities and rental cars but Nathan arranged everything. He had 2 rental vans waiting at the airport. We had 2 divers in the group and the rest of us snorkeled. We explored blue holes in the ocean and in land.
There were puppies and cats which our girls fell in love with. They were so sad to leave.
However, if luxury hotels are your thing you will be disappointed. The rooms are not fancy but a good size and clean. The beds are comfortable and there was good a/c. South Andros is charming and unspoilt for now.

great service !
Nathans lodge is a motel quality place but if you take it as that it is GREAT. The service was amazing. Freeman who runs the motel picked us up from the airport and took us for dinner and back to airport. He tried to accommodate our food restrictions as best as possible and was a big help with everything
The motel was at a very quiet, peaceful location by a beach and we had the beach ALL to ourselves one day.
There were also kittens and dogs around the place so if you like animals you will love nathans lodge.

Paradies...

Amazing beach, friendly people, average out-island
The room (two bedroom apartment actually) was adequate for our needs. we were three guys visiting for fishing and beach time after a long Michigan winter. The bedrooms were quiet, comfortable and air conditioned. The bathroom was fine, and the towels and linens provided were just right. The kitchen had a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and pots and plates and utensils. No bugs, no smells, no dirt.
Freeman Smith, the general manager, was courteous and attentive. He was able to provide meals when we needed them even though we did not purchase the all-included meal plan. He was also a great help in referring us to fishing guides and snorkel diving operators. The local restaurant, Skipper's, just down the beach, was great for dinner almost every night.
That all said, it was not perfect. Expedia charged my credit card for all four nights lodging in January when I made the reservation, rather than when we actually used the room. When reservations were made, the lodge advertised a complimentary continental breakfast, which did not exist when we arrived in April. Similarly, shuttle from the airport was to be complimentary, but we had to pay the taxi driver $40 each way (even though the absentee proprietor Nathan had told me the taxi would be $20). Some would call the furnishings shabby, and the decor less than first class. For instance, it appeared that a crack in the kitchen wall had been repaired, and when the new plaster was painted, it was another color.
