Convenient transit option

Hotel was literally next door to bus station which was very convenient. Local bus stop and large supermarket also next door. Breakfast option was adequate (€12). Usual compact room.

Near the bus station

Standard Ibis experience. Good value and next to ypthe bus station meaning travel to and from Kaunas Airport is cheap and easy. No kettle in the room but the rooms have great televisions.

The room was kinda small and basic, but fine enough if the rest had been great but it wasn’t. We got a room on the fifth floor facing the street, so it was really noisy. Mattresses on the hard side. No safe in the room, no kettle, no fridge. The plugs were only on one of the sides of the beds. Towels thin and worn out. Only one single small garbage bin which was placed in the toilet. The room could definitely use another bin!! Two out of five days we didn’t get cleaning even though we put the sign on the door. One of the times they sent the housekeeping so we waited 15-20 min in the reception, which was okay. The other time the housekeepers already went home so we couldn’t dispose our garbage anywhere (we had ordered takeout the day before so we really were annoyed). Also, I had to ask for extra hand towels almost every day as this apparently isn’t part of the package (?) So I’m supposed to dry my body in the same (thin) towel that I dry my hands in. Great location with a lot of bus connections but also kinda noisy because of the all traffic. Ear plugs are a must for this hotel. Super market really close and there’s also a great pizza place. But that’s pretty much it.

Positives: - Double bed mattress - Decent wifi - Good storage for clothes - Modern look in room - Friendly receptionist - Clean environment - Good area - SmartTV Negatives: - Needs more hook storage in bedroom and bathroom - No plug sockets besides the bed - No shelf storage in bathroom - Only 1 rubbish bin that's kept in the bathroom - Housekeeping doesn’t: --- replace the dirty mugs with clean one --- clean the floor The hotel's website needs to update what amentities they have as they say they provide slippers and robes, which I asked for and they don't anymore. Before arrival I asked if there was a kettle and a mini fridge, they said there wasn't a fridge but they could offer a spare kettle. I decided to take my own travel kettle in case as I would rely on it a lot. They provided me with a kettle though even though they couldn't guarantee it. I asked if I could have a room near the lift and they did give me a room however it was an accessible room. It was spacious and the bathroom was basically a wet room. While there are handrails to hold on to, there was no seat or ledge built in to sit on and the floor had no anti-slip feature meaning that I almost slipped and fell when having a shower. I had to keep one of the towels on the floor to stand on to prevent slipping. There is a good hairdryer though. Also the bathroom products are 3-in-1 bottles; hair, body and handwash. One placed at the shower and one at the sink. Overall it's a nice place to stay short term.

Place with excellent connectivity

Best point of the hotel is its close proximity to Kaunas bus station and train station to reach other parts of Lithuania. Room was cozy and neat, and I could see buzzing road outside through window. Little amenities given but it’s not a big problem in my case. However, constant small noise of ventilation has hindered my sleep since I’m pretty sound sensitive person. Maybe other rooms are fine but this was small shortcoming of my stay.

Great value place a little further from the old town. The woman working at the reception(unfortunately forgot her name) was super helpful! Taught us how to use the local public transport apps. Breakfast basic, not bad. Room was cosy with space to put luggage easily. 3.5/5

Failed to deliver promised facilities

When selecting a hotel to stay in whilst visiting a city you have never visited before you rely on the facilities the hotel promises. The Ibis Kaunas Centre failed to deliver on many counts. The promised bar didn't exist, the promised restaurant was never opened. This is despite adverts for their tasty food in their lifts only breakfast was served. My room was never cleaned during my 5 day stay; indeed my waste bucket wasn't even emptied. Perhaps most disappointing was that despite pre-arrival requests for check in information, no mention was made by the hotel about the promised facilities being unavailable; nor indeed were we given the option of cancelling our reservation with a full refund so we could go somewhere that did offer the facilities we required. Staff were completely disinterested in my complaints. Poor customer service and a hotel that simply did not provide what it advertised. Very poor.

Was decent enough for what I paid. Shower tiles showed signs of mould. No electrical sockets next to bed or next to mirror as wanted to dry hair after shower. (Luckily the wire reached closest to it). Breakfast was nice with plenty to choose from. Staff need to crack a smile from time to time.
