Nice villa in great location with stunning views across the bay from the outside terrace and pool. Great villa for our family of 5. Lots of space, clean and well maintained. Nicely furnished and decorated it was a comfortable home from home. Our teenagers really liked their bedrooms. Really large infinity pool and spacious outdoor terrace area which had a good balance of shaded and non shaded areas. Outdoor furniture could do with an update as some of the sun beds weren’t really useable, the side tables were a bit unsteady and the free standing umbrellas could be a little temperamental on occasion and the Outdoor shower also needs fixing properly but it didn’t spoil things for us. The games and fitness area in the garage could and should be utilised more as a selling point for the villa like they are in other properties. Unfortunately the exercise equipment was quite dated and whilst the games tables were fine it felt like things had just been shoved in there and no additional thought given. It was not really well kept as an area and was really used more for storing extra water and old furniture than an additional space which provided entertainment away from the heat of the day. A missed opportunity.
We’ve stayed in Kalkan villas a few times and this is a lovely villa in a good location. Walk into town downhill in 20 minutes with taxis back costing a mere 20tl. Restaurants, bars, shops and general area of Kalkan never fail to deliver a great holiday experience.
If we were being very picky, some sort of welcome book for the villa would be very useful. Owner contact numbers, WiFi codes, alarm information or information about drinking water charges at a basic level would have sufficed. We also requested a food and drink welcome pack which wasn’t there when we arrived at 11.30pm, which meant we had nothing to eat or drink available except water. It did arrive the next day but not till lunchtime by which point we’d already had to get up early and go to the shops. An unfortunate mix up in communication.
Cengiz, the villa owner, and Fiona (his English friend who helps him manage the guest communication in the UK) were both helpful. Cengiz does live locally and manages the villa himself. So When requests were made for things or something needed fixing he was quick to respond. We were unable to get a late checkout as the villa was booked but Cengiz kindly gave us a lift with all our cases to the Elixir Hotel where we spent our last day.
