"The house was clean and well-equipped. We especially appreciated details like beach towels, lawn chairs, snorkel equipment, etc.Laundry facilities were exceptional!The snacks at welcome were thoughtful.Dampness in the home was a bit challenging; given the climate here, bath mats and towels stayed damp, and there was a bit of a musty smell in the home.The host was attentive and responsive, and All in all, this was a good home base for a family wishing to explore the east side of the island. "

"Overall, my stay was adequate. The rental appears to be a hotel room with a minor conversion of a closet into a "kitchenette" area with a mini fridge and some utensils/bowls/plates. There is a microwave and toaster as well as a small coffee maker. I was expecting an actual kitchen to cook in but rereading the amenities, I'm not actually seeing Oven listed. I think the name of the rental "studio apartment" led me to believe it was a full apartment. The room needs an upgrade as the carpet seems well used and the room itself smells like cigerette smoke. I think if I had awareness that I'd be washing my dishes in the bathroom sink, I'd have different expectations of what I was renting and would have chosen differently. "

"Property was located conveniently in an area where there are no other hotels/accommodations within the same price range. It has all the basic amenities needed for a fuss free stay. I felt comfortable during my stay. Kitchen was a great to help with preparing meals and bed was comfortable. "

"This was one of the coolest rental properties I've ever stayed in. We were fortunate to arrive while Joshua was still there, and he gave us a tour of the property, highlighting some of the features (architectural, art, etc) that he and his wife have loving put into this rental. The house was so well equipped, we were sorry we didn't have many more days to stay and enjoy the property; from the games, movies, beach gear and fully stocked pantry, every detail has been thoughtfully curated. Location was remote, but Joshua's instructions get you directly there, and it's only 20 mins from the Volcanoes National park. NOTE: If you are lucky enough to be visiting during an eruption, it will take you FAR longer to get into the park. It took us 1.5 hours, but was an absolutely amazing experience. HIGHLY recommend booking this ASAP!"

"Beautiful and spotless accommodations. Very friendly and helpful hosts that were responsive when we had questions but also gave us our privacy. The grounds are gorgeous and the house is located well, in between Hilo and Volcanos Park. Nice hot shower too!! "

"Dawn is awesome and was working hard every time we saw her. She has a beautiful property here and we had a wonderful experience. A whole different world from back home in Indiana. We wanted to steal her awesome cat Mary Jane Its very rural here, a good thing, so get anything you will need before arrival as its a good 20 minute drive to any supplies. Once you hit the sketchy roads your close. All part of the experience and a great one at that!"

"Clean room, great breakfast at time of our choosing. Generous snacks, coffee. Place to hang inside, out front and back. Stuff to use for beach. Thoughtful and friendly hospitality throughout! What a great deal!"
