The rooms were very clean and spacious. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a great selections and delicious. One day we had a very early tour and they packed the breakfast for us since we couldn't go to the buffet.

The Royal Ambarrukmo was originally built in the 1960s by President Sukarno. Its lobby contains one of the most beautiful and largest mosaics I have ever seen. This is but one of the many details that make this elegant, well laid out, and conveniently located hotel stand out. Rooms are large and well laid out. There's a great pool and children's pool. The restaurant and dining options are among the best of any hotel in Yogya. In short, though reasonably priced, this for me is one of Yogya's best hotels -- with a great staff and management in addition.

Staff were amazing! Very difficult though to purchase a glass of wine despite advertised on menu. Disappointing/surprised that a 4 star hotel charged £4 for an accidental breakage of a coffee cup! Hotel was fine for a couple of nights stay.
