Great place fun time playing on Gun Lake or sunbathing on the dock watching the several pairs of swans. Great communication with host.

Wonderful Lake House Getaway

We had a great time on Gun Lake. The house has every amenity you could need and communication is prompt if anything arises. The lake is beautiful and was not overly busy, even on a holiday weekend. This is a perfect pick for a family getaway. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

Nice location

Location was amazing. Home was a bit dated. Amenities were great. Communication with owner was very timely and helpful. Price was also very reasonable.

Visit to Shelbyville for a wedding

We visited the area for a wedding of a friend. The booking, the checking in and the entire stay was enjoyable! The views of the lake from house is so nice! The house is clean but as stated in other reviews it is a bit of a rustic cottage and could use a few updates but that did not take away the comfortability of feeling right at home!Absolutely beautiful sunrise! I wish we could have been there for a summer stay because the lake looks like it would make for so much fun and it's just steps away from fun in the sun!Thank you Mark and Liz for opening your home!

Gun lake

Great place, loved the large rooms kitchen and porch. A little cramped sleeping with adults, teens and toddlers but we managed. Mark was great.

Great summer spot

Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, a well stocked kitchen and roomy enough spaces for a group. We enjoyed the water, the kayaks, the paddle boards and the floatation devices. So happy with the air conditioning as it was hot a humid when we stayed. Our family enjoyed the swing with our grandson.

Wonderful lake property

The house was a perfect spot for our family vacation. Dated, but clean and perfect for a lake vacation. Nice open spaces in the dining room and sun porch. Quick communication and lots of lake toys and chairs to use.

Fun time

We had a great 3 nights at the cottage. Kitchen was well stocked, water toys and pontoon rental was appreciated and Mark was a great communicator. The reason we did not give 5 stars is because the cottage is dated and the sun porch is musty.

Beautiful location

This cottage is in a great location, close to everything with a great view. It leaves a little to be desired when it comes to the house itself. It is very dated and has uneven floors. Luxurious it is not. However, it suited our needs well and we had a great time. Mark is a good host and a good neighbor to his neighbors on the lakeshore.

Perfect lakeside cottage

This Gun Lake cottage was the perfect place for our family of 4 and pup. Two separate bedrooms with bunk beds for the kids, plenty of room to spread out and relax in either the family room, enclosed porch, or backyard over looking the lake. The kitchen and dining areas offered ample space to entertain, and the cottage was well stocked with all of the utensils and paper supplies we needed for the week. Our family enjoyed using the included kayaks & paddleboards, and renting the available pontoon boat and jet skis for a couple days were a nice bonus to our memerable vacation. Mark was a great host and communicated details promptly and efficiently. We hope to be able to return again in the future!

Fun on Gun Lake

We enjoyed our weekend at the cottage. Our granddaughter loved paddling around in the kayak. Appreciated the many updates the owners have made. The beds were comfy and the air conditioner worked great. Thanks Mark.

Roomy Lakefront

We enjoyed our stay at this lakefront home very much. The living spaces are very roomy, with lovely views of the lake. The home was clean. The kitchen provided everything we needed and more. The outside deck and tree swing are perfect--my grandkids (all under 4) really enjoyed the swing. The local grocery store is only 5 minutes away, which was convenient. The home is on a very quiet street just off the main road. All in all this is a fine property to stay in for a Gun Lake vacation!

Beautiful View!

This property has a beautiful view and we had a wonderful time. The neighborhood is very peaceful and that is exactly what we needed. The pontoon and the house were very clean and nice. The house has everything in it that you could possibly need. That made packing so much easier. We can't wait to rent it again!

Great experience!!

We had a fantastic wedding weekend at Bay pointe. This house was a perfect addition to our rooms at the Inn and Boathouse. Beautiful property on Gun lake. Great host made this so seamless.

The house is well kept and right on Gun Lake. It was perfect for what we wanted. There was plenty of space, beautiful views, nice yard and dock. Our host Mark was very nice and always available. Very easy to work with. It was difficult to leave such a nice place.

Awesome lake house

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was thoughtfully stocked with lake gear like paddle boards, lawn chairs, and beach towels. Great location to sit around the campfire and enjoy the lake view. The living room is huge and comfortable. We hope to come back again. Thank you Mark for the cool place.

Fantastic Time

Mark was a wonderful host, kept in touch before, during and after our stay. The view is gorgeous from sun up to sun down. My family and I had a great time. The jet skis were a ton of fun and the beach was not to far away. The cottage is a great family getaway. Everything you need to cook in or dine out.

Cottage On Gun Lake

We had a wonderful time at Mark's cottage. All the stuff to make your visit comfortable is supplied plus a lot of extras. Very comfortable beds, great chairs on the porch and outside. Good dock for boats and fishing. The cottage has beach towels and a large supply of regular towels, paddle boards, and a bunch of water toys. The three kids were in the lake pretty much if they were awake. Great escape from normal life for kids and the entire family. Nice quiet location, great neighborhood and the lake is quiet in this bay - not a lot of boat traffic so good for Paddle boards and others non-motorized activities Close to grocery store, restaurants - don't miss the Curly Cone! We hope to make it back in the fall for a week and will definitely return next summer. Most comfortable place we have rented at Gun Lake. Highly recommend. .
