「町の中心部から坂道を上がって徒歩１０分くらい。ホテルの前に遊歩道があり、眼下にドーヴァー海峡が広がる。天気が良ければ海峡の向こうにベルギーやフランスがかすかに見える。部屋は清潔でスタッフも親切だった。」

「We were expecting a well maintained, boutique hotel, sadly it was not. Although refurbished in Nov 2014, the state of our room (1) lacked maintenance. Although each was relatively minor, when 10 issues are present, then the result is a disappointment. I relayed these to the receptionist on departure, and she seemed reluctant to seriously acknowledge the problem. This summed up the general feeling of laissez-faire.」

「No 42 is a beautifully restored building in the heart of Margate.. The room was exquisite, one of the best I’ve stayed in. I didn’t eat in the restaurant but it too looked fabulous and was fully booked. The issue that lets the hotel down is the lack of staff behaviour」

「クリスマスキャロルやオリバーツイストの著者(ディケンズ)も良く利用した宿で古い歴史を感じさせると同時にモダンに綺麗にせいびされた部屋は快適。」

「The shared shower was cramped, dark, and you easily bang your head. Not only that you get a bang on the door by management stating checkouts 10am even though I was there 2 nights. Everytime you left the room you're interrogated by management wanting to know your every move. If you want a peaceful stay this isn't it. Needless to say I didn't stay the 2nd night found somewhere else.」

「Probably the nicest room we have stayed in despite spending 2 or 3 times more per night on other trips. Lovely spacious room in period property with exposed beams, brickwork and proper 4 poster bed. The quality of the renovation, and in particular the ornate marble/granite work in the bathroom, was exceptional. Add in a warm freindly welcome and it rates in the top handful of all time great stays.」
