I usually try to highlight pros and cons of every place we stay. However, this is the first time we are asked to pay to have someone unlock our bedroom door because the hotel does not have a key to the bedroom. No, this is not a joke, if you by mistake lock your bedroom you will need to pay $120.00 dollars to have your door unlocked. I read other reviews about broken ACs and having to pay to fix the AC and I didn't believe it until we had to pay $120 dollars to unlock our bedroom door. For the remainder of our stay we did not use the TV, touched the AC, blinds, windows or anything else that may break to avoid getting charged for it.
This place is not really a resort as their name entails. The property is pretty small similar to a roadside motel, the rooms are not very clean, there is no beach area and the master bedroom had either bed bugs or a spider problem because we would wake up with bites all over our body, but the children in the other room were OK. The rooms are decent, but not very clean. The unit is aging and lacks upkeep as the bath tub had old paint and was moldy.
The pros are that the unit had a kitchen, dishes and silverware which helped us save money to make up for the $120.00 fee that we paid to have our door unlocked.
Overall, if you want to support a local business this is not the place. Pay attention to the reviews as we did not and our experience was not pleasant.
