"Clean, polite staff, nice grounds"

"The hotel is small and family-friendly with welcoming, helpful staff. The decor is really nice and the property is very clean. Our room was spacious and modern with very comfortable beds. The shower is glass and basically in the open, so there's not a lot of privacy. The balconies are beautiful and the balcony doors are very high quality so they keep out a lot of noise from the music by the pool and nearby bars. The pool is stylish and clean and it was great to have hot tubs right beside it. They play loud music by the pool from about 7:30 am, which I found annoying. There is one main restaurant that serves a great breakfast and does a late lunch/dinner service. The portions are small but there are no issues if you order multiple items. There is also a good snack bar. I chose the hotel because I thought it was on a beach. This is technically true, but the sand is very gravelly and it's not suitable for swimming. The water is shallow and silty. You can't go out very far because there is boat activity in the area. I hoped to walk around the local area to see sights and explore, that's not really possible. There's not much to see nearby and a lot of the island is hidden away behind high walls or bushes. It costs $10-$15 US to get a taxi to the town/beaches in the north. Those beaches are nice but crowded. There are some great beach clubs like Mayan with sun loungers and good food. Overall, I found the town tacky and hectic and a lot of the island run-down and depressing."

"We stayed from March 25 to April 1st. The Service staff were outstanding. After arriving we became aware that the ownership of the hotel had changed. There was no communication about the change, and our package went from being all inclusive with the ability to order from the menu whenever we wanted, to not being able to get anything aside from the buffet for each meal. We were extremely disappointed with how the change over happened and the lack of communication around it. The expectations that the service staff had gone through with us upon arrival were just no longer available, and we had no choice but to dine elsewhere any time that we wanted a la carte food. In addition to this, there was a corporate team on site for the last few days and their presence was not welcoming or friendly in the least. We tried to address the situation that we were in with our package expectations many times, and were not provided any solutions at all that would have made it better. Prior to arriving we had also contacted the hotel to see if there was an opportunity to upgrade our room. Through email, we were given a rate for an upgrade, but when we tried to accept it and proceed to payment, the response was to show up and we would be taken care of. I tried calling instead to have the upgrade processed and was told that it was not an option. Along with that all systems were down, including wi-fi and communication to the front desk. The location is beautiful, the service staff were outstanding. "

"Location is amazing for snorkeling and swimming. The staff is super nice and helpful. The only reason I would not come back to this particular resort is the food and restaurant situation. The make you make a 24hr reservation to all their restaurants, but only 1 is included in the all inclusive. The food is not good. Very Americanized. Which might be good for some people, but not for us. And they will try to sell you a timeshare/membership to their hotels. "

"Love the location close to North Beach. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy I just was looking for something that had a comfortable bed and a good shower. If fulfilled all that I needed."

"The front desk ladies were pleasant, along with some of the restaurant crew... but the "security" folks are hateful, dont smile, dont communicate, and just unapproachable. Bar is way too expensive for tenants. $4+ for a local beer???? come on!! We booked with you guys, make it pleasurable. Rooms were clean but no fridge. We had a good stay but will target a different place next time."
