Staff was friendly, especially the staff at the entrance security booth. We liked the proximity to convenience stores and commercial area with the restaurants and other activities within walking distance. Rooms were spacious and clean; housekeeping was satisfactory. The tourist desk was excellently managed, and we availed ourselves of activities and recommendations it had to offer. This was the best part of our stay. Overall great experience at this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at El Dorado Royale for 7 days in July and had a fantastic vacation. The resort was only about 30% full, so there were no food lines and restaurant reservations were easy to get. The overall vibe was relaxed, with mostly couples in their 30s to 50s. Our More Inclusive™ package included seamless airport transfers, Maroma Beach access, and extra activities. We highly recommend a swim-up room—it was one of the highlights of our trip. The pools were beautiful, with swim-up bars, live music, games, and even a foam party. The only downside was that pool chairs filled up early with towels, but Maroma Beach always had plenty of loungers. The food was outstanding, and 24-hour room service was perfect before early excursions. The grounds were beautifully maintained. The beach at the resort was unusable due to seaweed, but Maroma Beach more than made up for it with excellent snorkeling, sea turtles, stingrays, and plenty of lounge chairs. Our favorite excursion was Río Secreto, followed by Cobá. We also treated ourselves to a beachfront couples massage at the spa. It was expensive, but listening to the ocean while getting a massage made it worth every penny. Our only real complaint was that the bed wasn't very comfortable, although the massage certainly helped afterward! Skip the Vacation Club presentation unless you're interested. This is an excellent adults-only resort for couples looking to relax, enjoy amazing food, and unwind. We'd definitely return.
