I didn’t have a great stay I ticked the good star. The thing about the Berkeley is it should be re-named as it bares no resemblance to the original Berkeley Hotel we first stayed in 30 years ago .It has gone through some great changes over the years the Blue bar and Collins room designed by David Collins and didn’t Sir Richard Roger’s design the entrance . Now you have the Collins room area that has nothing to do with the hotel and a strange mash up between the new Emory hotel owned by the May

The Duke of York Column is a monument erected in memory of Prince Frederick, Duke of York. Its cost was paid by the entire British Army who forwent one day's wages to supply the cash needed. The Prince couldn't have afforded such a luxury as he was in debt when he died (possibly as much as £2 million). The debts piled up due to his love of The London night life which included gambling on cards and racehorses, and , one could imagine, loose women.

The final result is a phallic symbol standing 137 ft 9 in (41.99 m) high. It should be noted that the actual statue of the Duke only accounts for 13 ft 6 in
