The bungalow is located on the beach “Am Schwarzen Busch.” The beautiful white-sand beach on the north side of Poel offers a lovely view of the Baltic Sea and passing ships. The turquoise-blue water remains shallow for a long way out and is quite warm, ideal for children, dogs, SUP, etc. It is patrolled by the DLRG and isn’t overcrowded even during peak season.
In total, the island of Poel has 11 km of sandy beach stretching along the north and west sides of the island.
The island of Poel offers many opportunities for beautiful nature experiences: long beach walks to Timmendorf or to the beach in Gollwitz. Beautiful biking and hiking trails free of car traffic. Windsurfing, kitesurfing, catamaran sailing. Stand-up paddleboarding in the shallow waters along the coast. Birdwatching in the salt marshes near Wismar Bay, in the Langenwerder and Fauler See/Rustwerder nature reserves. Horseback riding on the beach and in the sea.
The Schwarzer Busch vacation area offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation: beach chair rentals, SUP rentals, a restaurant right on the beach, mini-golf, a playground, a takeout grill restaurant, an ice cream parlor, fish sandwiches, and a crepe stand (opening hours vary by season).
Wonderful excursion options in the region: e.g., the Hanseatic city of Wismar with its beautiful old town or lively harbor area, the “Wonnemar” water park, the hands-on technology museum PhanTechnikum in Wismar, the Boiensdorfer Werder nature reserve, the Wismar Zoo, the Mumpitz indoor playground in Wismar, the Pirate Open Air festival in Grevesmühlen, KinderMotorLand in Niendorf....
The well-known seaside resorts between Wismar and Rostock—Boltenhagen, Rerik, Kühlungsborn, and Heiligendamm—are also worth a visit and easy to reach.
