"Quel séjour formidable dans cette maison ancienne et familiale, perdue dans la montagne ! Cette maison est immense, traditionnelle, et surtout, chargée de 150 ans d'histoire. "The bedding provided was clean. The shower room was as small as a telephone booth, but it was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of dishes, but unfortunately the sponges were unsanitary. It would have been nice to have a home-use rice cooker. The atmosphere in the room was relaxing. Thank you."

"The property is historic, yet well renovated, so we were comfortable. They also provide tea and cups of noodles at no additional cost if guests need a snack. The biggest bonus is that it's a traditional Japanese house in a historic part of town, so staying there is a travel experience in itself. The small intersection the house is located at is even on the front cover of a tourist handout at the local TI office. We highly recommend it. "

"Absolutely stunning property! Might as well be out of a movie or painting. The staff was incredibly hospitable and an impressive number spoke English. We had no trouble reserving a beautiful private onsen for our desired time. Dinner and breakfast are expansive and potentially adventurous for those not accustomed to more traditional Japanese food. Possibly the best place in the world to come meditate and relax. "

"We had a wonderful stay at this bezutiful hotel. It was somewhat remote via train but once there the charm and natural beauty of the area made it all worthwhile. Our room was a suite in traditional Japanese style. It was immaculate with many amenities. The buffet breakfast and dinners were of excellent quality and variety. We can highly recommend the hotel and its most helpful staff. The free shuttle to the station made our departure carefree. Arigato! "
