Froggy Cottage, Thornham, Norfolk

A charming brick and chalk stone cottage, beautifully presented and well-equipped. Froggy Cottage is set back from the coast road in Thornham, with rear views to the marsh and sea beyond. The kitchen is a cook's dream with a fabulous range style gas cooker and the garden with terrace comes complete with a little pond for the frogs!

Comfortable and well-equipped, this mid-terrace cottage is a well-loved and cosy holiday home. With pretty fabrics at the windows it comfortably sleeps four in two bedrooms, so is perfect for a couple, friends or small family to enjoy a short break or longer holiday on the coast. With quality bed linens, you're assured of a good night's sleep after a busy day out and about exploring this beautiful area of North West Norfolk.

If you're tempted to stay at home and are in the mood to cook, being in the heart of Thornham you have a fantastic selection on the freshest local produce to choose from to create something wonderfully tasty. If you prefer to eat out, and don't want to drive, there are plenty of places to choose from in the village that are just a short walk away. With pretty cottage gardens front and rear, you can enjoy alfresco dinging in the summer months and, best of all, your flour-legged friend can come along too!

With a sandy beach, RSPB bird reserve at Titchwell, and the coastal path all within walking distance of the cottage, don't forget to pack your bucket and spade, walking boots and binoculars too! The Coasthopper bus service runs up and down the coast road very regularly, so if you don't want to do a circular walk you can always catch the bus back.

Lovely stay

This is our second time at Froggy Cottage and I’m sure we will be back as the location in Thornham is very good. The cottage is lovely and cosy and has everything you would need. We have stayed in Thornham many times as very well situated. It has 3 lovely pubs and Eric’s takeaway where I had the best pizza ever. It is easy to pick up the coastal path from there and enjoy the lovely beaches which are ideal for dogs.

A Warm Welcome at Froggy Cottage

This was our fourth holiday in Thornham but our first stay at Froggy Cottage. The attraction of Thornham is easy access to the coastal marsh for the peace and tranquility, dog walking and bird watching and also for the three pubs in the village. Froggy Cottage was a welcoming, warm cottage with a beautiful view across a field to the sea, from the back bedroom. The cleanliness throughout the cottage was striking and probably the best we have found in any holiday accommodation. The beds were comfortable and we had a very enjoyable three night stay. We would certainly book to stay in Froggy Cottage again.

Nice cozy cottage

Very clean comfortable cottage, only problem, bath was very nice but not enough hot water to enjoy. Shower were nice. It was very expensive for the time of year but a beautiful location. Would definitely recommend it and will return at some point. Thor ham is my favourite area so in general great holiday

Wonderful stay

Froggy Cottage was warm, cosy and felt like a home from home. The beds were really comfortable and the shower is amazing. Incredibly quiet and beautiful views over the marsh. Close to lots of great pubs and great to have a parking space. Didn’t want to leave!

Our stay

Froggy Cottage is clean, nice and warm and comfortable however, there are two slight issues. 1. The back door is almost impossible to lock and unlock, we literally had to kick the door to lock from the inside, it clearly needs easing and adjusting as this could clearly be a security issue if guests cannot open and lock the door. 2. guests should be told to bring a torch for this time of year as firstly there is no light in the shed where the key safe is located and the security light only comes on when you are about three feet from the back door.

Lovely holiday based in Froggy Cottage

A lovely cottage in a great location. Very comfortable. Only issue was a stiff back door lock. But very comfortable and cosy. Everything we needed. Fabulous.

Froggy Cottage

We came to North Norfolk for a week of rest and recuperation; our family is currently facing significant health challenges. Froggy Cottage provided the perfect place to rest, being comfortable, well equipped and gorgeous. Wonderful to be able to see the sea from one of the bedroom windows, and so good to be near inspiring places to visit & walk. Thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely cottage

Christmas break

The cottage was very clean & well appointed. The large rear enclosed garden was great for our dog Fliss. The only set back to our visit was I sustained a fractured ankle two days after arriving. This restricted what we could do thank goodness for the Checkers pub down the road. Lovely food. The cottage was very comfortable we will certainly revisit again

Ideal for us

The cottage was very clean and warm. It was dog friendly and excellently located with large enclosed rear garden. Parking was plentiful and the window cleaner came during our stay. We have booked two holidays at Froggy next year

A great holiday cottage

Superb location and the cottage was great. Secure garden for our dog at the back too. No complaints but a shaving point in the bathroom would be worth considering?

Third stay at Groggy Cottage.

Once again a lovely holiday break at Froggy Cottage. The facilities are excellent in range and condition. The icing on the cake was at least 3 frogs in the pond. The secure back garden is wonderful for the dogs. Will be back there in the near future.

A return visit to Froggy Cottage is a must.

Froggy Cottage must be the cleanest, well maintained property I have rented. The oven sparkles, and all of the paintwork is fresh, you feel as though it has been prepared just for you! Last year I spotted a Wood Pigeon perching on a scant nest in the white rose tree; this year the high winds had presented a challenge, but a bird still wanted to nest at this "des-res".

A very short summary or our stay

We found the cottage very welcoming on our arrival and had a lovely surprise with the welcome gifts provided - thank you. Everything was as described in the brochure. We were really impressed with the kitchen and garden. Heating was brilliant as it was quite chilly in the evenings during our stay, but we were warm and cosy. The gardens were very pretty. The village itself was really lovely and it was really good to feel a part of village life,if even for a few days. The only negative things we would mention is that a king size bed would be better than the double provided, and perhaps even a shower cubicle rather than shower over the bath, but this is not as criticism- just an idea to be considered for the future.. In all we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Froggy Cottage.

Perfect Cottage

We had a perfect week in the cottage (despite the weather!). It is small and perfectly formed. Has everything you need plus more. Excellent for dog owners...tiled kitchen floor, enclosed garden and the owners provided dog bowls and bedding just in case these were forgotten. Also Thornham is perfect for pubs, takeaways and deli’s. Highly recommend the place....we will definitely be going back!

Fantastic

Fantastic cottage in centre of Thornham. We were there for the birdwatching and this cottage is in the perfect location for that. The welcome pack was appreciated. It was warm and spotless and with every facility. I will stay there again when in North Norfolk.

A lovely break in Thornham.

We were very pleased with our stay at Froggy Cottage. Facilities and comfort were excellent, and the enclosed back garden a godsend for our 2 small terriers ( a Scottie and a Sealyham). We wanted to return in February and Norfolk Hideaways staff were brilliant in obtaining authorisation for our second dog. The only failing we could find was the broadband was not very generous - we wanted to watch some darts on Sky via a tablet and had to go to a local pub to get unlimited access. But as we have been coming to Thornham for over 10 years there is no hardship in visiting the Lifeboat, Orange Tree or Chequers for an evening's relaxation.

Lovely cosy cottage

We have stayed in this cottage on four occasions and have always been very pleased with the cosy and well kept accommodation, the location and distant views of the sea from the upstairs window.
