The Space:
A World Apart Villa is based in the beautiful surroundings of Palmas del Mar Resort in Humacao, Puerto Rico. One of Puerto Rico's exclusive ports and tourist attractions. Situated in one of the best locations on the island. This stunning Villa has an amazing layout and is spacious for up to six guests. Caribbean style furniture, classic art, and many more features make this the perfect getaway. The Villa features three full bedrooms, 3.5 full baths, a one-of-a-kind private rooftop terrace with brand new furniture, gas bbq & imported Italian tile terrace, and views of the pool and ocean. Come enjoy all the amenities of Palmas del Mar and sleep and stay in the comfort of A World Apart. 

DISCLAIMER: The condominium Crescent Cove is currently undergoing general maintenance and upgrades. You may find machinery that is being used to paint the buildings and there will be workers installing solar panels and working with the tiling on the gazebo in the common area. We expect this work to be finished by July 2025. Please take this into consideration before leaving us a review.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: This property is located in the community called “Crescent Cove”, which does not legally require elevators in any buildings since they have a maximum of 3 floors. Please take this into consideration if you or a companion has any disabilities.

BEDROOMS

On the 2nd floor, you'll find the master bedroom, which has 1 king bed with flat screen TV, pool views, and a dedicated bathroom with double sink & bidet. Also on the 2nd floor, you'll find the 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds, flat screen TV, private bathroom. Lastly, the 3rd bedroom is located on the 3rd floor of the villa and has 1 king bed, a dedicated bathroom, TV, and best of all; access to a private rooftop with beautiful new furniture where you can enjoy the wonderful ocean views.

All bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with sliding door; perfect to enjoy the stunning views. Separate AC in each bedroom for great comfort.

PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY):

We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.

 
KITCHEN

A world apart villa has a simple and tidy kitchen that gets the job done. It has a fridge with a freezer, microwave oven, oven, toaster, and a coffee maker. The kitchen is fully supplied and equipped with all the dinnerware and cooking ware needed for an extended stay. West Indies Vacation Rentals always ensures that guests have fresh dish soap and dish sponges for their stay. This unit has a washer & dryer, a great amenity for a longer stay. 

 
LIVING AREAS

The main level has an open concept layout that connects the dining room, kitchen, and living room. Has a beautiful 6 person dining table and 2 additional seating areas by the kitchen buffet-style counter. The living room has views of the pool, beach & spectacular Caribbean Ocean. From here you can hear the ocean waves and enjoy the Caribbean Sea trade winds.

 
LOCATION

A World Apart Villa enjoys one of the most coveted locations within Palmas del Mar, Puerto Rico. Guests can walk to the beach and the tennis club. The rest of Palmas del Mar's amenities are easily accessible by Golf Cart, which can be rented at Palmas del Mar. These include golf, tennis, a wide array of dining options, various access points to the mile-long beach, marina, surfing, and mountain biking.
There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites:

Golf at one of Palmas del Mar's two 18-hole Golf Courses. Tee times can be booked over the phone.

Tennis at the Palmas del Mar Athletic Club with 20 courts that include artificial grass, Har-Tru Clay, and hard courts.

Lunch or dinner at La Pescadería, an oceanfront restaurant by the marina with some of the best seafood on the island.

Explore the El Yunque Rainforest. El Yunque is an easy 40-minute drive from the property and is the only rainforest under US Flagship.

Chill at the beach! It is walking distance, is a mile-long, and has a great beachfront grill!


TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.


AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. If you are staying for more than 3 nights and the property does not have a washer and dryer we can coordinate a complimentary towel changeover, subject to availability. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.

 
HOUSE RULES

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm

Check-out time is at 11:00 am

NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.

NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT PETS: Exceptions to the no-pet policy are made strictly for EMS Pets. If you are traveling with an emotional support pet, you must inform this prior to booking and present the proper documentation. This documentation is required by the community as they require pets to be registered prior to arrival. An additional $150 cleaning fee will be charged.

All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 7 days of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.

Maximum occupancy of 6 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 

Do not hang towels or clothes from the balcony or windows.

Do not wash white towels with colored beach towels. Any damaged towels must be paid for.

Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.

Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease, or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess, stained towels/linens will be charged from the damage deposit.

Subletting not allowed.

The host will not pay for hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.

Palmas Del Mar is a master-planned resort community located on the southeastern coast of Puerto Rico in Humacao, spanning approximately 2,750 acres. It’s a picturesque haven blending natural beauty with upscale amenities, making it a popular destination for both visitors and residents. The community features pristine beaches along a seven-mile coastline, two championship golf courses, and the largest tennis center in the Caribbean with 20 courts. Other amenities include a large marina, multiple swimming pools, a fitness center, and flexible event spaces.The area is known for its lush landscapes, with palm trees creating a tropical atmosphere, and offers stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and nearby El Yunque Rainforest. Palmas Del Mar is structured as a gated “city” with 32 distinct neighborhoods. Our private beach front , 3 story villa rental, with pool access was the perfect comfortable quiet place to relax . The views were stunning, the private beach sand was incredibly comfortable and smooth, the ocean water is turquoise blue and warm in this area. I will miss sleeping to the sound of the ocean waves. Restaurants and Supermarket within a few minutes driving distance. Thanks Paola for being a great host and quickly responding to fix minor issues. A pleasure staying at Palmas Del Mar. Karl.

We stayed in A World Apart Villa for the long weekend after a spontaneous decision to get away to Puerto Rico. The Villa was clean spacious with great ocean views (at less than half the price of those resort hotels). The house had everything we needed to enjoy the beach and at 1 hr drive from San Juan we were away from the crowds, but not too far to do some sightseeing and tours.

The place was very spacious with great communal spaces to hang out. The two balconies were very nice. Plenty of bathrooms for all guests. The pool was nice but they closed it for cleaning the last day we were there. The beach was accessible but not cleanest. Conditions prevented us from swimming due to current storms that passed by. The community was gated and had plenty of amenities which was very nice for eating, going out all while we felt extremely safe. We would stay here again!

The property is exactly as it looks and you can’t beat the proximity to the beach and pool. The management company was super responsive and courteous and handled our hiccups as well as could be expected. There was an internet problem which is unavoidable, but our biggest issues were that the room with double beds where my kids slept had no blackout curtains- just sheer panels that did nothing to keep the 6 am sunlight out. Needless to say we had needlessly early mornings. The curtains were there just not installed which makes it even more frustrating. The other issue was with the top bedroom’s bed which was super lumpy and had bed springs protruding towards the surface. It was poorly covered by a couple of mattress toppers. We called and the management company graciously came and replaced the mattress toppers. There was also construction being done on the exterior of the property while we were there- warning about this would have been appreciated. Other than that, the unit is spacious and comfortable with tvs and bathrooms in each room. The beach toys and chairs are appreciated! Palmas Del Mar is really lovely and is well groomed. I highly recommend!

The condo is absolutely beautiful. We felt as if we were at home. All amenities were there. We did go out to the the local Wal-Mart to get a few items before discovering that most of the items were already provided. Plenty of dishes, utensils, pots, pans, complimentary coffee, grill, games, beach accessories, towels, blankets, pillows. There will definitely be a future booking in 2025.

This was a fantastic property. Being located in Palmas Del Mar provided a sense of security. The property was spacious and allowed my family to spread out comfortably. The complex was right on the beach where the views to the ocean were magnificent. The pool available was a great option and we spent many an hour splashing around and sunbathing. There is easy access to surrounding supermarkets in Humacao, as well as a small convenience mart and multiple restaurants in Palmas Del Mar itself. Traveling to our various island excursions was easy as the property was located fairly centrally and far enough away from the large city to provide added peace and relaxation. The property manager was clear in all communications with me both before and during the stay. My family and I had an unforgettable vacation in Puerto Rico and it all started with our stay at A World Apart villa.

We returned to Palmas for the first time since 2015 and were so excited to find the area just as we remembered! The location of the condo was perfect for our group. We made use of all the spaces- wish we could’ve been on the upper deck more but unfortunately it rained off and on while we were there and left that space too wet. The condo had everything we needed. Check-in was easy other than confusion over the entry code. Check-out was super simple. Unfortunately we did lose power (apparently a scheduled outage) for most of the day one day but luckily we had planned a day trip and weren’t home for most of the time it was out. I would highly recommend the condo and location! We will definitely be back!

This property was ok but some things to know, both good and we wish we were aware of. Good. Beautiful beach location. Fantastic views. Beautiful grounds. Well stocked unit with spices and necessities. Palmas DelMar is easy to get around with lots of good restaurant options. A couple of our favorites were Pizzella and La Pescaderia. Don’t let the reviews detour you. The food at LaPescadaria is worth any wait and we didn’t have any service issues for any of our 3 visits there. Remember you are on island time. Be aware. While the listing notes construction starting in Feb 2023, it is still going on next door Feb 2024 and can start at 8AM and be very loud and disruptive. This unit itself is dated and in need of some key updates. The 3rd floor master is in desperate need of a new mattress. The shower is barely a trickle and wasn’t usable. We had to use the second floor bathroom in the 3rd room which was better but inconvenient. The upper lanai holds a lot of water and there was a constant drip to the lower lanai. Luckily the owners put a large umbrella which was open all the time so we weren’t getting dripped on. The downstairs bathroom had a leak in the wall which pooled up on the floor in front of the toilet. We contacted the property manager on the leaking issues and they were not very timely in their response. Maintenance came as was there less than 10 minutes, flushed the toilet 10 times and left. The leak continued and required a towel on the floor.

The agent personally provided good, polite, friendly service which we appreciated. Overall we felt the apartment/villa was good but definitely not great - especially the 3rd floor bedroom needed repairs and updating, and the twin bed 2nd floor had some issues. The glass top on a side table in the living room has a complete 'spider web' cracked surface. The construction nextdoor was listed in the description but we originally missed it; we'd strongly recommend that it be listed in bold at the top of the listing. Noisy in the a.m. We sent some pictures of the wear and tear that needs attention thru the app. Some of the kitchen pans could use a thorough cleaning or replacement. Lastly, we were disappointed that guests could not use the fitness center, tennis courts, etc. without additional fees. We had some great meals at restaurants, and side trips. Overall very friendly place.

We loved the condo; it’s exactly how it looks in the pics. There is a Walmart nearby in case you want to buy groceries offsite. There is a little market in Palmas Del Mar but it’s pretty pricey. The beach was nice but we were surprised by the amount of seaweed in the water. I’m not sure if that’s seasonal or not. Overall we had a great time!
