A stunning barn conversion, sitting in the Hope Valley, one of the most celebrated parts of the Peak District. Surrounded by dramatic hills and rolling countryside, the setting is perfect for both adventure and relaxation. The village of Hope is just 1 mile away, offering everyday essentials, a welcoming pub and a train station with links across the region. Castleton, with its famous caverns, historic streets and cosy tearooms, is around 2 miles from your door, while Hathersage, known for its outdoor shops, cafés and open-air swimming pool, is about 4 miles. For walkers, iconic Mam Tor and the Great Ridge are within 7 miles, delivering some of the finest views in the Peaks. Bakewell’s bustling market town lies around 12 miles, and the grandeur of Chatsworth House can be reached in about 13 miles. Whether family holiday or friends’ retreat, this is a great base for exploring Derbyshire.
Enter this spacious property, where each window offers sweeping views, or lush green spaces, over the rugged ridges of Mam Tor and the Great Ridge; with the Hope Valley rolling out below. From the central hallway, stairs lead down into the dining area, where a wide picture window frames this gathering space. The adjoining kitchen is generously sized and well-equipped, ideal for cooking together and sharing family feasts. Just off the kitchen, you’ll find a utility room with washing machine and a cloakroom with WC, basin and hanging space. From the hallway, the first staircase rises to a bedroom above the kitchen. This room has a double bed and its own en-suite shower room, offering a private and peaceful retreat. Moving the other way from the hallway takes you into the lounge, a warm and welcoming space with another wonderful view from beside the staircase. Also on this level, in the bedroom beyond, is a super king-size zip-and-link bedroom with en-suite shower room. From the lounge, a further staircase leads to the top floor. To one side of the landing is the children’s twin room with additional trundle beds, set beside the family bathroom with bath, WC, basin and bidet. To the other side is a spacious super king-size zip-and-link bedroom with dressing area and a luxurious en-suite featuring twin basins and a shower.
Outside, there is space designed to help you unwind. Two separate dining terraces give you options for eating in the open air: one beneath a glass-roofed pergola, and another a few steps down, both with stunning views. Grass areas provide room to stretch out or let children play, and everywhere you turn the landscape reminds you just how special this setting is.
