Pros:
- The view is stunning - from Diamond Head to the beach, with very few hotels in the distance. We were there in November and we could watch both the sunrise over Diamond Head and the sunset over the beach from the Lanai.
- The room had a perfect little kitchen for those that want to cook breakfast or a light meal and then get to the beach. They had everything you would need for cooking right there!
- The beach! This location is super close to the beach and snorkeling. My husband and I snorkeled almost every day! We even saw an octopus on the reef right by our VRBO!
- The bed is SUPER comfortable, and I loved the pillows.
- The A/C was strong and consistent.
- The lanai is such a treat, whether it's to dry your towels or enjoy a cocktail, or just enjoy the evening. We sat on it every morning and night. It is fabulous.
- Convenience overall is wonderful. There are ABC stores all over, there are a couple of great bars and food joints right around the corner as well. (We liked Lulu's for lunch and beverages, and the "Deck." is a must for dinner.)
- This location is on the quiet side of Waikiki because it is kind of at the "end" of the strip. The zoo is right next door, and parkland makes up most of the view. If you like a little people watching but not so much the crowds, this is for you.
- The staff at the desk was very friendly and welcoming. Elevators worked well. The lobby was very well maintained. Check out the 10th floor!
- Free parking nearby!
- The owners, Alexei, checking in on us a couple times. Super nice!!
Not Cons! But some realities of a week in this VRBO - the unit needs a little TLC.
- The shower water takes a while to get hot, so let it run, but not close to the door because the seal to the floor doesn't work properly and will get the bathroom soaked.
- The closet doors aren't super friendly to open/shut, but they work. We found we didn't like to use it because of the door.
- There is not a lot of room for your luggage. If you are staying over a week, it will take some thinking for how to use the unit while accessing all your stuff. We had floaties and two huge suitcases and backpacks. We made it work.
- There are fabulous lounge chairs in the room (we thought they were super comfy), but they are shedding their leather horribly on the armrests. I'm not sure this is fixable, so they might just need to be replaced.
Overall, we think this was the PERFECT place to stay for our first trip to Hawaii.
