Our Paradise Regained!
After months of hard work, the reconstruction after significant damage caused by hurricanes Helene and Milton has been completed. Thanks to all of you who reached out to show your support and to those who have recently booked with us on faith, even without up-to-date pictures of the property. Our Blue Heaven is ready to be the backdrop for many more memory-making years!

OBH is located on a corner lot in a quiet, residential neighborhood a short, straight block's walk to the white sand beaches. Guests young and old love the private, fenced-in backyard and covered back porch. Sit and relax rain or shine with a view of one of the largest private pools on the island. The pool has a brand-new electric heater/cooler to ensure that the temperature is perfect for you and your family no matter the season.

Our family purchased OBH from the family who originally built it in 1966 with whom we have remained friends. The home is newly restored and comfortable for guests of all ages. We are confident that you will find all the comforts of a home away from home and are proud to have many repeat guests with whom we have established very friendly relationships. We hope to host you soon and are always available to answer any questions that you might have.

Garbage should be taken out to the curb on Fridays. Please DO NOT MOVE FURNITURE, including lamps and small tables.
We reserve the right to collect $500 damage deposit if check out requests are not met, primarily leaving food behind or failure to return furniture to its original position.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Great beach house!

The house has everything you need for a relaxing beach escape. You can walk less than 2 blocks to the beach or just enjoy the backyard pool. It's perfect for the family.

Loved, loved, loved our stay here. The house and pool could not have been more perfect! The trees and shrubs and wooden gate in the back yard made the ABSOLUTE PERFECT backdrop for our pictures. We would definitely go back for another stay!

Very Clean.Great Location. Down the street from a beautiful beach. Decorations enhanced the beach vibe. Outdoor space very private and tropical. Would definitely recommend this unique piece of paradise.

Beautiful pool and outdoor space!

We had a great time at this house! The pool and outdoor spaces are beautiful and relaxing! And the shaded table and bar area are perfect for lunch or snacks after swimming. The owner Katherine, responded very quickly whenever I reached out. The house is stocked with everything you need to have a great vacation!

Perfect!!

This is our third time staying at this property on the island. It is absolutely perfect! It's just a short walk to the beach and the neighborhood is quiet. Everything is always clean and the owners are very good at keeping in contact to make sure everything is good. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic!

This home is the perfect place for a family. The heated pool kept the kids occupied on the cooler days and it was easy to watch the children in the pool from anywhere in the house. This meant I could be doing laundry or prepping a meal while keeping an eye on the kiddos. The furniture was comfortable, too, which is not always the case in rentals. We will definitely be staying again!

Perfect!

I usually do not review properties but this one deserves a review. This was a great place to stay at AMI. I have stayed at so many rentals and this one is one of the nicest. Not only is the property beautiful and uniquely decorated but Katherine is super easy to reach and very responsive. I appreciated the friendliness and warmth as many of the homeowners are not so much this way. Definitely recommend and will come back with my kids again!

Fun in the sun!

This place is the ultimate perfect vacation home! Large rooms through out, ample space for all of us. I especially appreciated how many essential items there were for us to use. Laundry detergents, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, etc. The backyard is exactly how it appears. An absolute oasis! I can't say enough about the pool, sitting areas, bar, and our favorite game, JENGA! The night lighting is soo awesome! There is just too much to type to explain how wonderful this property is. Thank you for such a wonderful, lovely, fun home.

Shortest Vacation Ever

Due to Hurricane Irma, our time in the house was only 36 hours, but it was long enough to know that we will be back for another visit but not during Hurricane season. During what could have been a very scary time Katherine and Joe were very helpful and we stayed in contact about evacuation procedures, which was comforting since we didn't know anyone in the area. The house is very nice. We had more than enough room. The kitchen had everything you'd need for a complete family meal. We spent most of our time outside soaking up as much as we could. The pool is amazing. We used it during the day and in the evening. When the lights are on, the backyard takes on new life and it's ready for a fun night. We planned to grill and swim and relax all week when we weren't at the beach. Even though we didn't get to enjoy the house for a full week I wanted to make sure I wrote a review. If the house made this much of an impression on us in a short amount of time, I can't wait to revisit for an entire week!

We hit the jackpot!!

I'm an extremely skeptical person so I was pretty nervous when I decided to book a vacation for the first time. I researched house after house in search of the perfect one for my family. I kept finding myself back at this property. As I clicked "book" and made my payment, so much went through my mind. I was super excited but so nervous with many questions. "Would the house look like the pictures?" "Would the owners be easy to work with and fast to respond to any issues or will the disappear once they have my money?" As we pulled in and opened the door I immediately felt at ease! This place is gorgeous!! So clean and beautifully decorated!! It had everything we needed and was very well stocked!! We didn't really have any issues, but when I asked Katherine about restaurant recommendations, she was very quick to respond and super nice!! When describing our experience here I like to use the analogy of walking into a casino, walking up to a slot and pulling the lever and hitting the jackpot on your first pull!! All my stress of future vacations has already been eliminated because there's no reason to search anywhere else! We will be back!!

Older Home

My family and I visited 10/28/23-11/4-23 for a family vacation. We booked this property for being close to the beach, heated pool and it was cheaper than other properties. Unfortunately, this property had more negatives than positives. The positives were the short walk to the beach and the backyard with lights which had a covered patio that we ate at every meal. The negatives were no check in from the owners once we got there to see how things were going or if we needed anything, lack of communication from the owners, grill didn't work, TV didn't work which not the end of the world as we didn't go there to watch tv but would have been nice to watch a Halloween movie or two, pool was not heated as the listing said, the place overall was very dusty and did not look like it had been cleaned, the washer smelled very strongly of mildew so we ended up taking our clothes to a laundromat. Then there is the issues of the cockroaches that we found. At first it was only a couple which not the end of the world but then we had found one in a drawer with cooking utensils which prompted my husband to remove the drawer and that is where we found A LOT of dead ones. We had messaged the owners about them and the response we got back we didn't feel it was professional. We do not recommend this property nor will we rent it again.

Heaven on AMI

If you are looking for a cozy home to rent on AMI, Our Blue Heaven is your place. Everything you need is there, and has been lovingly restored since the hurricanes.. The owners are a wonderful couple, and very attentive to anything you might need concerning the house. The beach is a short two block walk, shopping and restaurants are within walking distance as well. For days that are too windy at the beach, the private pool at the home is divine. We love Our Blue Heaven!

Delight

This house such a delight to stay in during our Fourth of July vacation week! It is difficult to find small but updated homes like this on AMI. The covered back porch and pool area were our favorite, but really the house had everything we needed and more. It felt like much more like staying in someone’s well-cared-for home instead of in a bland, characterless vacation property. And in the perfect location for the beach and all the fun of AMI. We hope to come back soon!

AMI family vacation

Our family had a wonderful, memorable vacation. Everyone enjoyed the pool, especially our water logged children. Location was key. Host communication was seamless. Any minor things are insignificant and not worth mentioning. Would definitely recommend.
