This historic building (nearly 200 years old) is a quaint property in a vibrant part of Hobart. Rooms are in good condition, especially for such an old building that has preserved most of its historic character. The owner, Jeff, is friendly, extremely helpful, and always available. He knows the neighborhood and the city and is very willing to share dining suggestions, hints for getting around the city, and sightseeing ideas. This is a terrific place to stay.

A home away from home
A very welcoming reception, beautifully restored and furnished historic homestead on National Trust Register, stately reception area and well stocked lounge. What a treat. The room was clean, fresh, bright and spacious with all bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities needed. Internal courtyard garden was welcome relief from city life. Thank you Jeff for your hospitality.

Thanks for a great stay. Had one of the best sleeps during my travels - the bed was very comfortable. And the complementary port was a nice touch - we do enjoy a nice port.

The Lodge is an iconic historical house in Hobart that has delightful rooms that are reminiscent of Victorian charm and wealth. The room we had was really charming with a 4 poster bed and a lovely couch. The proprietor was really helpful with getting us settled and had "pre-heated" our room which was really nice on the cold winter day we arrived. The location was fantastic for local eateries and still only a short walk/drive to get to the harbour front district. Highly enjoyable.

This place is a treasure! The rooms retain their olde world charm but modern conveniences are tastefully incorporated. The owners live on-site and they are wonderful hosts - attentive and friendly and very informative. We would absolutely recommend staying at The Lodge on Elizabeth.

We had an excellent stay at LOE. First class hospitality from Jeff and Julie. It is a beautiful house and so convenient to the wonderful restaurants, shops and historical sites. Loved it!

Lovely historical residence in North Hobart
Beautiful old residence in North Hobart close to Elizabeth Street restaurants and bars. Wonderful host, elegant lounge with complimentary port decanter and refreshments. Well appointed rooms with nice facilities (but no view). Overall a very pleasant stay and will definitely stay again when next in Hobart.

Everything from the room, the free available parking, location, facilities, Jeff’s explanation of Hobart and vicinity, the free port wine and the courtesy continental breakfast was perfect. We stayed at this b&b for one night but wished it was longer! Jeff was a fantastic host; he put on a varied continental breakfast and was very helpful with local restaurant suggestions within walking distance. The location is very convenient; a 5 minute drive to Salamanca, otherwise, a 15 minute walk. The room was clean and wifi signal good.
