Hidden away in the quietness of Lenah Valley, Provider House is a place of rest and relaxation while being only a short drive to the city centre.
The house consists of three levels. The ground floor features a welcoming dining room that opens out onto our little Japanese inspired deck, overlooking our zen garden and sunken fire pit. The room is filled with antique furniture and an Akari pendant light. It's the perfect place to read the paper in the morning and host a dinner party at night.
The kitchen is fully stocked with Japanese ceramics, utensils and cookware. The appliances by Fisher and Paykel will aid with cooking up a feast (which we encourage). Our kitchen is also adorned with trinkets and home tools that we sell through Provider Store.
While you're waiting for your roast to cook you can nestle into the NychairX in front of the fire place and dive into one of the many inspirational books we have to read.
As you descend down into our sunken living you can hear the rushing water from the river across the road. Make yourself at home on our plump MCM sofa, flick on the Noguchi Akari Pendent to set the mood. While streaming a movie, the Sonos Sound Bar will add to the at-home theatre experience.
Upstairs you will find two bedrooms and our reading room. Each bedroom features a queen hotel-like bed with crisp white Tekla sheets. We tried and tested every pillow and doona to make sure you have the best nights rest.
Our favourite room in the house is the bathroom. Once you step onto the warm (thanks underfloor heating) tiles, the smell of cedar will fill your senses. Our bathtub was hand crafted from western cedar, as are the walls. This room is inspired by a Japanese Ryokan, so run a bath, pour a wine and sink into pure relaxation. Our hand crafted basins were made by Australian ceramicist, Milly Dent specially for Provider House.
The third bedroom is located up the little narrow stairs at the top of the house. This peaceful space is hidden away and takes us to the Yoshino Cedar House in Nara. Enjoy a perfect night sleep in your double bed, fluffy sheets and silent surroundings.
Across the road from Provider House you will find the trails to New Town Falls.
THINGS TO NOTE:
We are on tank water and our tanks are very small, please be mindful of this as we have run out of water a few times. You may be charged a fee for water call out.
We have a very steep driveway that becomes slippery when it's raining. This is something to note when booking as it can be hard to get up.
Our house hasn't been set up to be child friendly. We love kids but we have steep stairs and precious objects.
Provider House can not be used for commercial photoshoots or videos without permission and a release form is to be signed.
