"Location is excellent. Our room faced the Cathedrale so the view was wonderful. If you choose this hotel it’s for the location. Otherwise our room was extremely dated and in need of a makeover. Especially the bathroom. Brown carpet was stained. Previous persons socks left behind on the closet floor and the safe didn’t work. I was forced to carry all our valuables with me during our 4 days in Strasbourg. Expedia’s description states the hotel’s safe is available from 8 am to 9 pm but staff told us the manager was only in until noon daily and was the only person who could open it."

"Had an issue with room availability at first, but sorted out and resolved quite quickly and pleasantly by front staff. Our room was spacious, fresh and clean , with gorgeous sunlight pouring through the huge windows which opened up to a balcony . Breakfast was an impressive array with lots of choices ."

"Excellent location in the old part of the city within easy walking distance to several main attractions. Restaurants are literally next door and across the street. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Carpet was very worn and lightly stained, but not dirty. Breakfast is very limited, but more than appropriate for the cost. As is typical for smaller boutique hotels in Europe there is no air conditioning. We were there in late September and early October so just opening the window was fine, but hot summer temperatures could be an issue."

"This hotel is an epic battle between a genuine 5 star staff and an aging physical plant that cries out for renewed cap ex commitment from its owners. The staff manages to hold the facility together for the most part, but it can't go on much longer without significant renovation outlay. Without such extraordinary staff effort, this is currently a 3 star property."
