  • 4 Cockle Ct. is a Beautiful Coastal Chic Home just a 5 minute walk to the beach!

    Upon entering this open concept home you will immediately notice the stunning architectural details of the archways and the high vaulted ceilings. When walking through the arched openings you will be lead into the main living space. The large windows overlook the private pool and spa and let in a copious amount of natural light which makes the room bright and airy. There is plenty of seating in this room making it perfect for the whole family to get together and watch a move at night on the 55 mounted smart TV.

    The gourmet kitchen is adjacent to the living space and features all top of the line stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and custom cabinetry with gold accents. The large island with 4 barstools is great for prepping meals for the family or just having a quick bite. There is also a large round dining table alongside the kitchen for six. There is a door from the dining area that leads out to the bamboo surrounded backyard with a private pool, hot tub, and gas grill.

    On the main floor of the house you will also find the full laundry room, a powder room and the primary bedroom.

    The primary bedroom features a king size four poster bed, comfortable chairs for two, and a smart TV. The en suite bath has a double vanity, clawfoot soaking tub and a separate shower. There is a door that leads out to the pool area as well.

    On the mid-level of the home you will find two queen bedrooms, both have smart TV's and share a Jack and Jill Bathroom with a combo shower/tub.

    On the upper floor of the home there are two more bedrooms. One features two double beds as well as a twin day bed. This room has and en suite bathroom with a combo shower/tub.

    Across the expansive "cat walk" that overlooks the main living area is the second master bedroom with a king size bed, two comfortable chairs for curling up with your favorite book and an en suite bath with walk in shower. There is also an additional desk which can be used as a workspace.

    This home has all of the modern comforts to make your Hilton Head Vacation a memorable one!

    The spa and pool can be heated (June 1st - October 1st) for an additional fee.

We spent most of our time outside in town and then our evenings at home. We rented bikes and had them delivered to the home. We never used our car and instead rode bikes everywhere; the marina is the furthest bike ride, took about 20 minutes with kids. Lots of fun! Beds were comfortable and the house was clean. Would definitely go again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was the second time we stayed in this home (previous visit was under a different rental agency). Out 10 day stay included the last week of April and first week of May. It had been updated with some fresh paint and finishings since our last stay which was nice. The home was ideal for our needs. Some minor inexpensive things which could improve the experience would be to have some beach towels included (we bought some and left them in the home when we departed), and additional tea/dish towels (again, we purchased some and left them behind).We had made a special request (which was agreed to in advance of arriving) for the pool/spa to be heated, although we were told that it is not normally done this time of year. My understanding for this is that some guests feel the pool does not reach a comfortable temperature. We found it very comfortable when it was heated. However, the pool was not heated on our arrival, and stopped heating 3 days prior to our departure. Numerous calls and visits to the front desk were made about this. Unfortunately it was not possible for me (the guest) to communicate directly with the contracted pool maintenance staff, so it became difficult to know what was being done or being told to the front desk as to what was wrong or not wrong. We were not given callbacks from the front desk about what was being done. I eventually was given a refund for the days when the pool was not being heated, which was nice, but I had to call the front desk twice after returning home for this to be arranged, though it (the refund) had been discussed prior to leaving Hilton Head. Without this refund, I would be hesitant to rent with Palmetto Dunes again given the difficulties and service deficiencies around this, but am partially reassured once being able to settle this matter.

Another wonderful week on Hilton Head

The pool had to be shocked on Saturday and as a result we could not use it on Saturday evening.The back doorknob fell off. Literally simply came off. It was repaired promptly by your staff and worked well all week. We were told that you could no longer get parts for it. I was surprised at that!The pool was the only issue. It was never really cleaned.Chlorine was added, we skimmed it as we should I don’t expect someone to do that every day. The bottom was green most of the week.I don’t want to sound like a complainer. Overall we had a wonderful stay.I would book this property again. Actually I have in the past. The last time The day before we arrived it was struck by lightning. The air conditioner needed to be replaced and all the TVs were out. This time none of that and like I said it’s beautiful and would book again!

Spa worked fine but directions not printed nor provided clearly in writing and rather confusing; NO kitchen amenities such as foil, salt & pepper etc; kitchen knives extremely dull; ice maker small; king size beds with humps in middle and "valleys" on each side; no first aid kit; furniture somewhat comfortable but not for the size of the home. Bedrooms and baths nice for a large group. Pool fine; lots of debris bc of foliage but cleaning tools & service provided. Would have spent a bit more and rented a home with a view of the ocean and outside deck. Shuttle service nice and as described. Property Management company staff was attentive; but, we were there prior to the busy season. Would not rent again after learning more about the area.
