Great location

This is the third time we have rented this house and can not beat the location. The only issue we had was with the pool. It had green algae in it when we arrived. The management company did send someone out the next day to look at it. The pool company shocked it, but it never really cleared up. We spent most of the time on the beach, so we were fine. Will definitely rent this house again.

Great house and location, but the late check in time was very inconvenient

Overall, it was a great house. Spacious and we loved that every bedroom had its own bathroom. Short walk to the beach. Pool was nice. Our biggest complaint, 5 pm check in is very late in the day (other rentals in the area are usually 3 or 4). So by the time you unpack and put away groceries, it’s time for dinner, and just felt like we couldn’t take advantage of the beach that day. That extra hour or two really makes a difference. But what was most frustrating is we know no one else was staying in the house prior to our stay (it was showing as available on Vrbo), so there’s no reason the house couldn’t be ready earlier. And in fact, they messaged us that it was ready before 2 pm, but this rental company charges $150/hour for an “early” check in. Other companies will usually reach out and let you know when the house is ready for you early. It’s no skin off their back to let us in early and would help guests have more time to settle in and enjoy our stay, yet they would not without charging (very steeply I might add). Instead we were dragging our luggage all over the shelter cove shopping center (we did not rent cars and the people driving had not arrived yet) waiting for 5 pm. So just not good customer service compared to what we’ve experienced with other companies, and makes us less likely to book with them in the future. There was a visible layer of dust on top of one of the ceiling fans and dishes left in the dishwasher when we got there, but otherwise the house was great.

Family vacation

Wonderful location. Overall great house. We did encounter a clogged sink at arrival which took a couple days to get fixed. Lights on pool didn’t work and didn’t get resolved, I didn’t realize you had to set up and pay extra to heat spa ( thought it was only for the pool heat) Cleaning items didn’t work (vacuum and broom was broken) Overall the house was very spacious and peaceful. Pool was clean and refreshing

Excellent house

We have stayed in this house several times. This was the cleanest at check-in and a small issue was handled promptly by the realty company. We had a wonderful vacation with no problems. Definitely recommend staying here.

Mixed Bag

First of all let me say that this is a beautiful home we stayed at 3 times and we love it. Our experience with VRBO has always been excellent and we’ve used them many times over our 25+ years vacationing on HHI. My problem this year was with the property manager, Vacation Homes of HHI. We arrived on Saturday and found on Monday evening that our dryer didn’t work. Called and reported the problem and was told they knew about the problem and it wouldn’t be fixed until Thursday. So, I’ve paid almost $11,000 for a home and we can’t wash our clothes. The property manager’s response was that they had no control over the technicians who do the repairs. They had to order a heating element and wait for it to be delivered. I spent 40 years of my life in the service industry and I would have put someone in a car to go get a simple heating element which took less than 15 minutes to install. They also told me that they called me before our arrival on Saturday to inform me that the dryer didn’t work. I received no such call and they said I had given them the wrong number. The number they had was correct and I had my home phone transferred to my cell so there was no way they couldn’t reach me. If they didn’t reach me they should have left a message .At that point, we were already on the road and couldn’t have brought extra clothes.So, we spent 5+ days of our vacation without the ability to wash our clothes. Since they knew about the problem they should have continued to reach out.

Fine beach house

As other reviews have stated, the property was fine and met our needs. The outside needs some work, specifically the deck. But overall was a great place to stay.

Bachelor party

Everything was great. There was plenty of room in the house. The pool can become kinda shady but that is just because of the trees. But all of us did not mind it because we all got plenty of sun on the beach, it was good to go to the pool later on. Walk to the beach was nothing but a min away. Overall great stay.

Great Location, Great House, Pool Problems

The house and location are great. The house is well-equipped, has nice size rooms, great living space! The location so close to the beach and in Palmetto Dunes is wonderful!! We paid for a heated pool and spa - and were so excited to enjoy this amenity with our group of small kiddos. However, this was the BIGGEST disappointment of our trip - the heater wasn't on when we arrived - and it took over 48 hours (of our 5 day trip) to get it working. Even once it worked, it only worked for 24 hours before it stopped again. Despite countless texts and calls - the pool heater just wouldn't reliably work. While this was not the fault of the Property Management company - they didn't handle this proactively or with my urgency. No written instructions were left, and the labels/buttons on the controls outside are all worn off - I was continually told to reference the instructions that didn't exist. This was a total bummer - and in the end (after much back and forth) the heating fee was refunded in full - as we only could enjoy the pool/spa for 1 day. But just a heads up for future renters – please ensure that this has been fixed before you expect it to reliably work!

Great location but needs work

Loved the floor plan and location for our family, but had housekeeping not up to par. Patio doors to pool area were almost impossible to slide open. Our family was only there for the Labor Day week end so we attempted to handle all issues on our own without contacting the maintenance office.

Great place to stay in Hilton Head!

Property management let us check in early which was amazing since our flight got in super early. The place was clean, had plenty of space and beds for everyone. Pool was clean and had places to lay out in the sun or the shade. Walking distance to the beach. Overall great place to stay!

The house was perfect for our large group but had some drawbacks.

Two of the bedrooms had two full beds supposedly to sleep 4 adults which was very uncomfortable. Also, the bedding needs to be upgraded. Some of the sheets were torn and did not fit the beds well. The kitchen was great and well equipped. The deck and pool area had not been swept or cleaned and needed a power wash. It was overgrown and in serious need of a thorough landscaping. We had a wonderful family time but the house and grounds are very dated.

Great Location and Really Good Place

The properties location to the beach and the pool in the backyard are tough to beat. The walk to the beach is simple and easy, and takes no time at all. The pool is a really good size and you get good shade in the late afternoon, which is nice after being in the sun all day. The Management company was super attentive and quick to respond to any questions. We needed new propane for the grill and we had it within the hour. I would stay here again, but there are some things that could be improved: water pressure wasn't great in all the showers, upstairs bedrooms were a little warm, and we had to run the towels through the dryer multiple times. Overall, a really great place and great trip.

Perfect house to share with another family

Palmetto Dunes is the best place to stay on Hilton Head and I have been coming here for 27 years. This house has a wonderful location within Palmetto Dunes. The proximity to the beach, General Store, bike/walking paths, tennis and golf make it worth the money. Highlights of the house include good size private pool, two large master suites, 5 bathrooms, outdoor shower and dining room table for 10. This was our second stay at 4 Cat Boat and we hope to stay again next year and would recommend it to any larger family or group. There is plenty of room and privacy. Furthermore, the kitchen is set up well for cooking meals which was especially helpful during the pandemic.

Great location, good property

As they say in real estate: location, location, location. This property is in a great location and was reasonably good deal at the price. We enjoyed our stay, and the younger folks really enjoyed the proximity to the beach. The pool is nice, and we used that as well; and the deck is ok but could use some work - at minimum it should be repainted and would really benefit from being resurfaced.

Perfect for a large family vacation

Our extended family of 7 adults and 3 children fit comfortably in this house and had a wonderful vacation. The kitchen was nicely stocked for a large family and we all fit around the dining room table. The pool was wonderful and the location was spectacular with only a few minutes walk to the beach. We had a few maintenance issues which were responded to and corrected immediately. I would say the only shortcoming was some sections of the house need to be updated (dirty or old grout in the bathrooms and dingy carpeting in the bedrooms) - but certainly nothing that would diminish a wonderful vacation.

Terrific home for a family vacation

The five bedrooms and five baths were all good sized and fit our family's needs perfectly. The path down to ocean made getting there so fast and easy. After spending time on the ocean, it was so nice to jump into the pool. We loved the pool and the size was great. The microwave, washing machine and dryer could be updated. They work but they are extremely loud. We had 4 families and 4 cars and everything worked out great. Perfect location.

TV in one of the upstairs bedrooms went out. On first floor bedroom with 2 beds one is broken and not able to be used. Dryer needs new timer, shuts off 5 minutes after starting. Deck needs help. Plants growing out of spouting

EXCELLENT Location

I've been traveling to Hilton Head every year since my first visit 10 years ago. I always stay in a different location. This was top of the list on satisfaction. Vacation Homes Of HH, made everything so easy. They send you all the info, no traveling to an office to pick up keys/codes and documents. This house is amazing. Spacious and well stocked with everything. The pool is larger than averages houses on the island. It has its own pathway to the beach (big deal) the beach is very private since it is mainly just those renting homes close by. The house was clean and decorated beautifully. Beds were very comfortable. Neighborhood is very nice and extremely safe. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. This is the first house I could say that I could live in permanently and be very happy. There were eight of us and it was perfect. I would have only changed one thing...I believe all the furniture was new and beautiful, but it needed a plush comfy couch, maybe a sectional. But that's just my taste. I just left and I'm ready to rent this house again. LOVE THIS PLACE. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!
