"The room was adjoining another room with a door between the two rooms. I could see the light from the neighboring room under the door and hear everything going on in that room, including a loud TV and loud conversations. In my bathroom, the baseboard molding behind the toilet was hanging off, laying on the floor. The hallway outside my door had trash items on the carpet. The bed was comfortable and the shower was fine, so not everything was bad, but I wouldn't stay here again. There was never an employee at the front desk. I had paid in full for the room in advance, but they still required a $100.00 "Deposit" which was refunded when I checked out...never had this happen before and I've travelled a lot."

"The rooms were nice, very clean, everything works. There was a line at check only had one person working at peak check in time. Amenities are non existent, but location is top tier. Not bad overall."

"Clean rooms and great service. However, a $20.00 fee being charged excessively every time you reserve a room is ridiculous for smoking policy when you reserve a nonsmoking room. "

"Staff was not friendly and my room was not ready until much later than my scheduled check in time. When I tried to voice my concerns to hotel staff, they dismissed the complaints without providing any remedy. Water pressure was terrible. There are only 4 elevators and it could take up to 20 minutes to catch one during peak hours. "

"The hotel was clean, the staff were wonderful and very welcoming. And it was quiet!! Nobody running around, no yelling, no door slamming and no weed smells, loved it!"

"Well. That location is a tad sketchy with crime and police. Four police cars blocked off the entrance due to an event that occurred outside. Made my way in. The hotel was okay. Once new, it might have been excellent, but it was dated, needed some TLC with floors and decor. It was fairly full with a convention in town. Room was fine and clean, a tad dated. View was excellent, shower was excellent. Bed okay, pillows not okay. Clean as to be expected. Not horrible. Not the best. But in that location, I’ll give it a better review. Portsmouth is kinda dead end, but I was only there for a funeral, so I tried to get the best available for that little city. I grew up in Ptown, but it’s changed over the years and not for the best, but considering, it was okay overnight stay. "

"Worn chair, dirty grout, cabinet that used to hold refrigerator was rotted out. Just old looking."
