Great stay

Everything about the stay was wonderful. The lake was amazing and it was quiet but close to everything needed. Only complaints i had about the cleaning was the ac in the bedroom looks like it it needs the filter/fin cleaned really good. Other than it was a great stay. Thanks for letting us stay and would love to visit agian in future.

We fell in love with this property and it was perfect for our family. We wanted somewhere to relax and do some fishing and it was exactly that. The dogs loved swimming and running around and enjoyed it just as much as we did. We will definitely be back!

Great location

Enjoyed our stay. Loved the porch looking out over the pond. Husband enjoyed fishing. House was perfect for the 2 of us and our fur baby. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property!

Totally enjoyed our visit in June. Property owner Ms. Ann was very nice and so easy to communicate with. The property was very clean and so serene. It became almost magical at dusk when the fireflies came out. Thank you so much Ms.Ann for sharing your wonderful property. We would love to visit again next year!

Relaxing in nature

Enjoyed being outside birdwatching Mallard watching dogs enjoyed it huge fish. Daughter enjoyed the swing while we fished in the pond.

Secluded escape with super convenient amenities

The property is an oasis with the feeling of a secluded mountain cabin escape while being only minutes away to charming downtown Hendersonville. It really is the best of both world’s. We loved our stay and could not have imagined a better experience. Having stayed in Asheville numerous times, the exhaustion of driving around treacherous roads from a remote comfy cabin to the busy hilly roads of downtown Asheville pales in comparison to this property. Having the rustic experience of a cabin/pond so close to the accessible and good vibes of Main st Hendersonville made for a magical weekend.

Timberlake Cabin

The cabin was as described The host was communicative, checking in on us when we arrived. We found the cabin cute, rustic and cozy. It is close to a main road but very quiet. Had everything we needed and more. We ate in a lot and had everything we needed to prep and cook meals. Plenty of clean linens and towels and the washer and dryer were an asset. The outdoor space was lovely and the amenities provided by the host were fantastic; canoe, paddle board, lawn games and dog toys and more. Enjoyed the screened porch and open deck for bird and watching the squirrels eat the black walnuts; especially enjoyed the visits by the solid white squirrel. Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short due to Hurricane Helene and the conditions caused by the storm.

Wonderful weekend getaway

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Timberlake cabin. Everything was exactly as described, and every question we had promptly answered. You simply cannot beat the location! It felt like we were tucked in the woods, but it’s almost downtown. I loved how close we were to two grocery stores and tons of restaurants. We look forward to planning another stay when we can enjoy fishing in the lake. The record breaking hard freeze from the week before had frozen the lake. It was thawing by the time we were leaving, but we still enjoyed the serene view! Our two children begged for just one more night when it was time to leave. The dog even loved the outside space and we felt extremely safe. Clearly, enjoyed our long weekend and can’t wait to return!

Perfect for a Small Family (+dogs!)

What a great place to stay for our long weekend in western NC. The cabin is very cute and fit our family of four perfectly. We sat on the porch in the mornings and enjoyed the sun and peaceful setting. Our boys LOVED having the opportunity to fish and take the canoe out on the pond. They got to experience alls types of wildlife, including Sheldon the *surprisingly* huge fish! Our dogs were in hog heaven and had plenty of room to run and roam and enjoyed several dips in the pond (there’s a hose there to rinse them off). The house had everything that we needed and was perfectly located for our plans to visit both Asheville and Pisgah National Forest. We had one question while we were there and Anne was immediately accessible. Thanks Anne! We’ll definitely be back.

Ramshackle Charm

We rented the property because it offered a three-acre, fenced property with a small pond. The house has seen better days and the pond, unfortunately, is being taken over by aquatic weeds. The property is located off a very busy, narrow road, and while it is fenced, it is easy for an excited-to-be-on-vacation dog to get through the gate. If your dog has any energy at all, you need to keep it in sight at all times, preferably on a leash. The house needs a thorough cleaning, inside and out-- but we have to admit that the longer you stay, the less you notice the defects. It has a certain charm. We do suggest that guests bring their own towels as the ones provided were essentially rags. We also recommend that the owner remove most of the decorative clutter to give the space a cleaner vibe. One last note, we enjoyed being in the trees and being able to watch stars, fireflies, and even the lights of jet planes from the bedroom window.

What's not to like ?

From the time we arrived we realized what special property we had chosen. First let me say Ms.Anne went out of her way to be in touch, because I chose to get a new phone carrier the day before we left. I would not make this decision again None the less, Miss Ann had the foresight to leave me email , in order for us to be in touch. Upon meeting our host we knew immediately we had made the right decision in renting this lovely, amazing, old school cabin. This host hides nothing. If you have a problem with this property, " unless you want grove park" easy up the road 18 miles, will cater to all your needs for 450-600 A NIGHT. here you will slide right in ,relax , and enjoy. There is no possible reason not to. We have been here a week and have no desire to leave. Down town is 5 minutes, fine restaurants. Nice grocery shopping the same, if you budget shop or only organic. There are also gourmet choices within 5 minutes . We were gifted a beautiful snow shower , two days later 70 degrees, house is spotless, as gated and private as you choose to be. Lake is awesome with a small breeding clutch of mallards. The hardwoods creek a little, and the wonderful stone fireplace burns ever so smooth. If you want a get away and aren't to fussy, this place is awesome. We will be staying again, if were aloud. ? We travel often, the host at this property should be commended.

Our stay was everything that it was described to be. Private, secluded, pet friendly. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't there for us. Well equipped kitchen and lots of outside amenities from water craft to games/toys. Highlights were mornings on the shady porch sipping coffee and evenings gazing a the stars above and enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature.

Pure bliss

We absolutely loved our stay at Timberlake Cabin! The setting is peaceful and beautiful, with great fishing right on the property. The location is perfect — close to town, but still feels like a true getaway. The cabin itself was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped. One of our favorite features was the huge fenced-in yard — our dogs had the time of their lives running and exploring safely. We've already rebooked for two more vacations and truly can't wait to come back!

Peaceful Stay

My husband and I stayed here for 45 days after both our mothers passed two months apart. We needed down time and that is what we found here. It is an older updated well maintained cabin complete with squeaking floors that adds to the charm. The front porch was perfect to sit and watch the ducks chase each other. The side screened in porch was perfect to eat meals outside or sit and enjoy the view in the rain. All appliances worked well. We had no issues. The water stays hot for long showers. The beds are comfortable. The owner communicated well and kept us informed but were mot bothersome. More like a quick text to see if we needed anything or someone is coming the grass Monday at 10. - they won’t bother you and you don’t have to be there. She was very accommodating and informative. She did offer use of her cleaner while we were there and let us know just to call when we wanted trash pick up so no one would bother us unnecessarily. My Dad who is local would come over and him and my husband spent a good bit of the fishing from the bank and took the boat out a few times. They caught quite a few fish. The property is about 3 acres or so. The lake takes up the majority.The location was a bit of surprise. Although the property is located off a rather busy road and about two blocks from another, the sound is quite muffled and you couldn’t really hear the cars unless you were paying attention or a random loud vehicle passed by and you could not hear them at all inside.

Incredible Little Treasure

My family spent the Christmas Holiday at this hidden gem and had an incredible and relaxing time during our stay. Our children and puppy enjoyed the lake and large fenced-in yard while my wife and I enjoyed the tranquil view of the the lake from the cozy porch. We will definitely be back :)

Lovely rustic cabin

The charming cabin was perfect for our needs while exploring the area. Yes the floors creak and are uneven, yes the ventilation system is old (but worked fine), yes it is rustic. And adorable! Comfy furniture (low) and lots of seating on the covered porch. The vintage/antique decor was really great. Huge fireplace! We enjoyed watching the birds and white squirrel. The only thing is the ‘lake’ is not a traditional lake. More like a big pond. Great for people who fish but wouldn’t want to swim in it. Can hear the traffic going by but did not bother us especially after rush hour. Can’t walk in the neighborhood due to busy street and no sidewalks but there are many places around to walk and hike. Really enjoyed our stay.

Comfy cabin on private lake

I am sure the owners of this property had a lot of fun going to yard sales and antique shops to decorate this 1953 cabin! I called it the Shabby Cabin. Lots of things to look at in every nook and cranny. Most importantly, the screened sun porch and the back porch overlooking the lake were just perfect. We spent most of our time there, when not relaxing inside or sleeping in very comfy beds. This VRBO had everything you need and more. We loved our stay; and did our little dog; the big yard with the albino squirrel was her favorite part. Book it, you'll be glad you did!

Lovley home in a wonderful historic city

Nice location convenient to many hiking trails and great restaurants. Biltmore Estate and downtown Asheville are just a short drive as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway. The weather was great considering we were coming from Florida. We will probably be back next year.
