Avoid this hotel at all costs if you are on holiday and value a hospitable, relaxing environment. I stayed in this hotel for two nights, and let me share what happened to me during breakfast on the last morning before checkout. Because of Covid-19, according to the reception, the hotel required guests to book a 30 minute slot for breakfast (not unreasonable in theory, but it's worth pointing out that I stayed in two other hotels in Heidelberg, and far more flexibility for breakfast was permitted). I opted for the last slot in the morning, at 09:30. There was no slot after this. At 10:01, a member of staff rudely came over to me and said "excuse me, breakfast is finished, can you leave?" I told her that I was finishing my coffee, and I would leave shortly. At 10.03, an overweight, fussy man - the manager I believe - came over to me and loudly announced: "I'm sorry, breakfast has finished, you need to leave." I was astonished at being spoken to in this way as a paying guest. Furthermore, the experience at breakfast itself was awful - the overweight, fussy man and his colleague were running around with slices of ham and pots of coffee... why the rush? It had the pace of a busy Italian restaurant but none of the charm. An awful, tense environment, exacerbated by a fussy and rude manager who seemed determined to prove he was "busy". I regret staying here and would urge anyone, especially solo travellers, to stay elsewhere in Heidelberg. There are much better options.

Perusyöpyminen kolmen tähden hotellissa. Ei hissiä eikä ilmastointia. Huone ja sänky riittävän hyvät yöpymiseen. Aamiainen niukka mutta täysin riittävä. Palvelu ystävällistä. Sijainti erinomainen vanhan kaupungin kupeessa joen rannassa.

Older hotel, quaint setting, fits the town. Parking is a bit away from the hotel, but the town is a nice place to walk.

The hotel is in old town, so dont expect "the Ritz". That being said, while the stairs creaked, and the carpets could have been replaced a while ago, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful! The breakfast(included) is a typical German breakfast, with rolls, cold cuts, cheeses, jams, cereal etc, and a great start to the day! :-) The hotel is located right across from the old bridge, and a short walk to the castle. There's a water-ferry stop across the street, and you can take a nice 1 hour round trip boat ride on the Neckar. Lots of great restaurants and plenty of souvenir shops nearby too.

This is a period hotel oozing with character. The staff were friendly & extremely helpful and made us very welcome. The decor reflects the age of the property, but is in character with the property. Our room had a river view and was clean & comfortable. The hotel is situated close to the old bridge & close to all amenities. Highly recommended.
