"Wonderful location. Had all we needed for a week’s stay - hot water, beds, kitchen. Was a little disappointed to find out “air conditioned” meant one small ac unit upstairs. With the positioning of the house, there’s no cross breeze. We ended up buying another window unit to cool downstairs. Internet was excellent. This is good because there was ZERO cell phone coverage. Not a bad thing at all. Very close to excellent hikes, and there are even unmarked trails behind the house - with an extremely steep climb! The beds could use attention. Upstairs has 2 queen mattresses on full size frames/box springs. Downstairs has worn out box springs. Would be nice to have beds that all match what they should be. No issues other than beds and ac. Loved the stay, didn’t want to leave."

"Property was very well taken care of newly renovated, with excellent decor. Owner was very responsive. Nice quiet place where my family and enjoyed ourselves and some amazing hiking in the Linville gorge. If your grilling be aware you are in bear country and they may want to come check out what’s for dinner. I would go back in a second."

"I cannot say enough good things about the property and the owners. Everything was as described. The views are amazing, the property is beautiful and clean, and everything was perfect. The location was great for trios to Linville, Banner Elk, Lake James and more. Shopping is not far away and you can get everything you need. Debbie went above and beyond to make sure our trip was a special one. Thank you!"

"We enjoyed our short stay at this beautiful cabin. Beds were comfy and kitchen was well stocked. Leaves were on the trees so no mountain view but it was so quiet and serene we didn't mind. Sofa was a little small for us so we watched tv in the bedroom. Visited Grandfather Mountain and Blowing Rock. Highly recommend"

"My family and I have stayed in this cabin twice! Once during the summer (July) and again during winter (January). Both times were wonderful! The location is perfect. In the summer we were able to do tons of hiking and play in the creek behind the property. In the winter we went sledding and skiing. Everything is very convenient and close! The cabin is clean and cozy. The bedrooms are a good size with comfortable beds. It’s a really great place to relax with friends and family!"

"We fully enjoyed our stay at Sitting Bear cottage. It was super clean and perfectly outfitted for us to enjoy the fall leaves with family. Wonderful location surrounded by nature and close proximity to wonderful trails, sights and food. Looking forward to many future stays at this and other Flying Squirrel Cottages!"
