  • Are you looking for a sun and sand filled vacation at an affordable, Outer Banks oceanfront rental? Well look no further. One Particular Harbor is the perfect place for fun, romance and relaxation.

    The Harbor is small, but the beach is wide! The 'Harbor' is a free-standing one-room efficiency cabana, decorated in Tommy Bahama/Margaritaville vibe. It is on the outside row of a cluster of forty small cabanas. Its features include a queen captain’s bed, a queen size pullout sleeper sofa, and a full kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities of home. The maximum occupancy is three people. The Harbor has three outside decks, the top decks has an amazing ocean view! Recipe for the perfect beach getaway: Just add Rum!
    You can take your morning coffee with you on a stroll along the beach. While away the days in the hunt for the perfect sea shells. Watch the dolphins play in and out of the waves. Rig up a fishing pole and talk fish tales with the locals. Or grab your surf board and catch the perfect wave.
    You are at the end of the Outer Banks island chain with not a care in the world. Hatteras Time. Come and enjoy. Relax, leave your worries behind. It's all good on the water!

Beach makes everything okay

Cute, small bungalow 5 cottages from beach. Flight of stairs to entry door, another flight to an upstairs balcony where you can see the ocean. Step stool required to get into bed and for access to cupboards top shelves. Bath tub also with high side challenging when stepping over to get out safely. Note: we are short people (not midgets). A couple of concerns for safety: loose board on top of stairs, another on front porch bench which is completely loose. Colander and knife set have peeling red paint and are really in need of replacing. And finally, there are no oven mitts. Don’t usually carry those on vacation, so may want to add those in your bag if planning to use the oven or microwave. As noted, the beach is so great and location is convenient to everything you need.

Maintance Issues

Thought we would go to the beach during the winter to experence Hatteras when it was quiet. Overall experence was good. The sliding door at the front of the cabana was tilted and didn't slide competely closed so it was very cold the first night. then I stuffed towels in the cracks that helped. The toilet insides were rusted and the flapper would not shut properly, so everytime we flushed the toilet we needed to take off the top and push it in the sealed position. Other than that we enjoyed our stay. The beach is awesome. Watching the sun rise and seeing the vast array of stars at night was breath taking. Drove up and down the outter banks and saw the four major lighthouses.

A little disappointing

The place itself was ok. Small, but enough room to move around. They are building 2 huge houses next door, so the construction noise was very loud. Sitting on the deck wasn’t relaxing. Be prepared that there is no laundry on-site. I contacted the owner twice through VRBO and never got a response! Once was about how to get the tv to work. We figured it out, but it was a little tricky. The location is nice. You can walk out to the beach but nothing in Hatteras is walkable. We probably won’t stay here again.

Quaint & Quiet

The place was perfect for me! I definitely enjoyed myself, I thought it would be right on beach but location was perfect for a quick stroll! I did have an issue getting in, the instructions given was off but I figured it out after a few tries! Place looks better than picture with new paint job, new sofa, kitchen was perfect and had everything I needed to cook while I was there. Recommendations: fix the lock on door, have to hold the door closed a certain amount to get the lock to engage, the door has rust on it didn’t want to touch it! Also the bathroom blind has rust on it, should probably change that. I also had to sweep and mop when I first got there because there was a ton of sand on the floors. Purchased a bathmat and left in shower because it needed one!!

This was a perfect space for a couple, right on the beach, quiet and relaxing. I msg the host prior to the trip & didn’t hear back which worried me a little but everything was great. Full kitchen was nice, check-in & out process was easy. Would definitely stay again, thank you for the hospitality!

The cabana was a perfect size for my friend and I, and was just right for our budget. We thought there was going to be a problem when we first arrived, as there were other occupants in our unit. The cabana smelled like marijana when we arrived. The couch was made of fabric and stunk of it too. We notified the person listed on VRBO and she apologized and said she would tell the cleaning service to address it. This is of-course not the owners fault as some previous guest are just plan disrespectful of the rental and did not follow the rules of no-smoking. We left the doors open to air it out but it smelled that way for a few days but did finally clear out before we left. Aside from that the cabana was cute, smaller than a hotel room but was good for two people. There was no closet but had storage for clothes built into the bed Frame which made it high off the ground (there was a step stool to help get up onto the bed). There was Thankfully no signs of roaches or bugs like a previous review stated, so that was a Hugh relief for me. The bed also had a memory foam mattress topper which was a huge plus and made the mattress comfortable. You could go up to the top deck on the third floor and see the ocean over the sand dunes but just barely so there is no ocean view from the second floor- the floor the actual living area the cabana is on. You can walk to the ocean and go over the wood walkway over the dune to the ocean and it only take a few minuets to walk out there. Overall we had a good stay and would rent again if we are ever back out that way. Thank you!

Hatteras Get Away

Checked in online. Kitchen facilities were good. All decking and steps are about to fall down. Very unsafe! Promised amenities were not available. Beach chairs, outside waterhose, coffee, creamer etc not available. The property office said that unit 5 was not there property. But the walk to the beach was as promised. Be aware of unit 5 it is dangerous!
