Perfect Up North Getaway

Had a great stay at this up north getaway! The house was clean and had comfortable sleeping arrangements. The lake was beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed catching panfish and boating on the lake. Would definitely book this place again!

Nice Winter Vacation

Scenic winter location. Other than the need to bring drinking water and towels, our stay was enjoyed by the entire family.

Just the "Northwoods fix" we needed.

The property was just the right size for us, and the lake was gorgeous. It was mostly quiet (not a lot of boats on the lake, though we weren't there for the weekend). I'd book it again if we head back to the Minocqua/Rhinelander area.

Beautiful Lake - Enjoyable Stay

Beautiful, clear water with sandy bottom and gradual slope from shore. Nice view of lake from wall of windows in living area. Kitchen fairly well stocked. Could have used a Pyrex measuring cup to heat water in microwave and some clean hot pads. Grill was not usable as grid was rusting. Paddle boat was broken so couldn't use it, but had canoe and kayaks. Was nice to have a gas fireplace for chilly evenings and an outdoor firepit. Tub/shower had good water pressure. Bed was comfortable.

Great place, nice lake, would go again

Great location, fun kayaks, no towels, fridge and water heater was off when we arrived. Owner responsive. Dishes needed some cleaning. Nice lake, long unpaved road to house, but our car did just fine.

Great spot!!

We stayed over the last weekend in July. First and foremost, the shallow lake entrance and solid dock with the benches were a HUGE hit for the family from 3 years old to 66. Kids caught tons of fish, likely the same fishes a few times over, but still, they loved it! Collected shells, enjoyed the canoe and kayaks. Kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and appliances needed. Nice shower and washer/dryer swtup is greatly appreciated with kids. Only thing we noticed is the airflow through it is slightly limited but the ceiling fans work great to keep you mostly comfortable. We plan to return again next summer!

Stayed in worse!

Overall a nice Northwoods cabin. Not a good place for snowmobiling, to far from the trail and no place to turn a trailer around. We stayed in the winter obviously, I suspect it would be an awesome place on and awesome lake for a summer stay.

Pretty view, meh housekeeping.

Great place that met our needs with beds. Wished we had known dock was pulled. Found a hair brush and dirty sock in fresh bedding so, a bit iffy on housekeeping. Lots of dead bugs (ladybugs) on all floors. Pretty view.

Nice cottage on very quiet part of lake

We really enjoyed our stay here as the place was good for 4 adults and 3 kids (teens). The place didn’t have AC which was an oversight on our end but the place stayed fairly cool with being shaded and all the fans. Unfortunately the place wasn’t very clean so we had to do a lot of extra cleaning (which we will send a separate message to the homeowner about). All in all, we had a great time, the property was great, the house was good, and it was the most perfect, quiet dead end!

Family getaway weekend

As advertised. Very roomy and comfortable. Great kitchen with everything you could want/need. Two issues... first no hand railing on steps into cabin. Traveling with elderly mother who had difficulty with getting in. Secondly bed off living room and couch had little support and were a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise would have given 5 stars. Will be back again.

Beautiful location

Everything was mostly as listed in the agreement but a few concerns. House wasn’t as clean as would like. Figured out the heating and hot water issues because the instructions were very good! Bedding was questionable if it was clean. We had to shovel when we got there and the road in was a little scary being one lane and snowy, you need a vehicle that can handle a northern wisconsin winter! The view was great. Found cooking supplies but could use some staples like whisk and griddle. Place could use a deep clean-bathroom very clean though! It could be a very fun property for family and friends for sure. We had a nice time!

Great 4th of July weekend w/ family

Overall, we had a great time on our stay. The views from the living room/back deck/dock are amazing. The lake was quiet and good for swimming with a toddler. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Close enough to Minocqua/Lake Tomahawk to allow us to venture in, but on a serene and quiet lake that . Two downsides: 1) The people before us did not take their trash with them, so we ended up having to make a trip to the dump halfway through our stay. $7 to dump it wasn't enough to ruin our vacation, but it was an added task/annoyance. It would be much better if the cleaning staff removed the trash rather than leaving this to the renter. 2) We couldn't get the ceiling fan in the bedroom with bunks to work. Luckily we only needed 2 bedrooms, so we were able to stay cool enough.

Exactly as advertised

The property was wonderful and exactly as advertised. Check-in process was easy. The clear bottom near at the shoreline was very nice, and great for swimming and fishing, particularly for the kids. We had a rather cold week for summer, so swimming was seldom. The cabin itself was nice, pretty much what you see is what you get. Our group consisted of 10 people so one bathroom was somethigng to think about, although it wasnt an issue. It is mentioned, but bring towels, including hand towels for the bathroom as it is not provided. Fortunately, theres a walmart 25 minutes away in Rhinelander, so that helped with the things we forgot to bring. Flashlights are vidal, our kids were fascinated by seeing the fish and crayfish lurking near the pier. We saw a 26+ inch Northern resting under the pier on the last night, although it didnt stay too long. Fishing was pretty good, but we brought a boat and we were all over the lake. Only thing that we didnt love was having to take the trash from the cabin to a local dump. Do not leave trash outside, plenty of scavengers will find it. I will definitely stay again in the future.

Stay

For a Vrbo the scenery could not be more beautiful❣️it is right on a beautiful lake. When walking on hard floors there seemed to be sand or crumbs on floors. Also some of dishes and pans were dirty. Some of bed sheets were paper thin. Also not a towel provided. Owner said it was in information so I probably missed it but in my defense I have stayed in multiple Vrbos and this was a first. Also the battery was out in the front door code lock. Needless to say we were locked out almost 2 hours in the rain the first nite there when we came back from dinner. Reception was poor so had to drive out to the main road to let him know that everything we tried wasn’t working and he lived an hr away. Of course reception is going to be iffy out in the country but still you would think he might change the battery more often. Also no offer of any compensation whatsoever. Not even a bottle of wine or gift card.

Simple fishing cabin

Caught a few pikes, several small panfish, & a couple bass. The water temp was 72-74. We rented a boat from schroaders rv in Rhinelander. We attended the minaqua water ski show, which was fun. We were disappointed the paddle boat in the description was in the shop, as we were looking forward to that because I cant physically kayak or canoe. Some kayaks had broken back rests, but the kids enjoyed using them. It's very shallow by the dock for kuds to swim in. Neighbors are close by, so dont expect privacy or silence (they had kids & pets). But, we didnt mind that. Bring your own salt/pepper & shakers if you want them. Dont forget to bring your own towels, too. Deck furniture seat padding was missing or doesnt exist. Screen door needs some wd40. WiFi was good. We did not use the grill. Each room has a ceiling fan, which was helpful. Kitchen table (tightly) seats 6-7. Living room area has 1 couch & 1 loveseat. Bedrooms were nice & clean. Bathroom is very small & shower was not the cleanest (hair on wall), but it got the job done. Theres a washer & dryer, but we didnt use it. It is a simple fishing cabin that was a low price and on a pretty lake. It was as advertised, minus the paddle boat.

Classic, Serene Up North Getaway

We loved our time at this cabin! Host provided easy, fast and accommodating communication. House was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen necessities there and comfy couches. Cabin was the perfect size for our 2 families with little kids. The lake views were TO DIE FOR- morning, day and night that view did not disappoint. The beach area and gentle sloped water was perfect for our toddlers, they had a blast building sandcastles and finding shells and learning to swim (they could also touch most of the pier length). We launched our boat at the launch down the road and docked at the house, all very easy to do. The lake was very quiet this weekend, at times it was just us and a few fisherman boating on the lake! Lake was perfect size for us. We did not use canoes or paddle boat but they were there on the lawn. Pier looked new. Location of this cabin was nice- secluded up north feel, at the end of the lane... can't beat it. We ventured to the Minoqua zoo which was only 25 mins away, got pizza from Pizza Haven in Rhinelander 20 mins away. The only 'downside' we would say is the water is very iron-y, however we are familiar with typical water up north and it wasn't a big deal for us, we brought tons of bottled water (including for brushing teeth and washing baby bottles) and all was good. So bring lots of bottled water, shower and hand towels when you rent, and have yourself a perfect up north vacation. We were all very sad to leave and already talked about returning next summer. 10/10 reccomend if you want a classic, serene up north getaway.
