Hike with pilgrims to hilltop Mansa Devi Temple and ride a scenic cable car to Chandi Devi Temple. Take an auto-rickshaw to Bharat Mandir, a multilevel temple full of statues of revered deities. Visit the Daksh Prajapati Temple Complex in nearby Kankhal district.
Throughout the year, festivals light up the river and temples. These include March’s flamboyant Holi (Festival of Colors), June’s Ganga Dussehra and November’s Kartik Poornima. The most famous of all is Kumbh Mela, which takes place once every 12 years and welcomes thousands of colorfully dressed sadhus.
